Is this a useful ring??? Do the 8 seconds start at the beginning of combat or at the end of the first 30 secs (then only useful in boss battles....) Are the 8 secs every 30 worth it if you have less than 100% crit? Clearly if you already have 100% crit it should be moved to an alt or used as mimic food.

It triggers at the beginning of combat and yes, its very useful...particularly if you slot it on a companion with bonding stones :)

Thanks for the info. I've been sitting on it for some time, because I usually favor solid stats over those that move around. But 4000 crit seemed like an awful waste gathering dust.

with bonding stones at rank 12 when your companion procs companions gift I believe that roughly works out to 12k crit and it lasts for the duration of companions gift which usually has an almost 100% uptime so its definitely worth it! :)

I might have to switch to a companion with rings. I love my shadow demon, though. I PVP, so my crit is muffled. This might make a big difference.
