VIP renewal question

I'm certain this has been asked before, I just can't recall the answer. When you renew your VIP before it has run out, do you lose the remaining days or does it add to what you have left?

Example: 10 days remaining + 180 day VIP package = 190 total days of VIP?

    It just adds the new time to your existing time.

    I had 64 days left of VIP and just bought 6 more months, now I have 244 days remaining.

    64 + (6 * 30) = 244
