Time to fight crime in another city! (A farewell from me)

Hey everyone,

I'd like to announce that we have another Community Manager joining our team, the amazing Julia (@nitocris83). I'll let her introduce herself more in another thread, but please welcome her to the team! She'll actually be working directly at Cryptic, which I'll talk more about later.

So what's this slight farewell from me? Well, I'll actually be taking a backseat and more of an advisory role going forward whereas Julia will do all the things you see me do now: blogs, social media, forums, events, live streams, developer communication, etc. When I mean advisory role, it means I'll only step in when I need to or give Julia advice when she asks with the understanding that I'll completely transition off of Neverwinter. This change won't happen immediately as we need to give Julia some time to get used to everything, but we'll be sure to let you know when I hit my advisory role - early-mid December.

As for what I'll be doing, I'm focusing on Gigantic and future projects at PWE, which I'm super excited about! So technically, I'll still be here .

These past 18 months have been incredible and I couldn't have asked for a better way to grow as not only a Community Manager, but a person. You guys have taught me so much, a lot of which I'll bring on to these future projects. Even when things got a chaotic - and sure did they get chaotic - I still enjoyed going to work every day for a game, which spoke so clearly to who I am. I've made some great bonds here and see a lot of you as my friends. Please continue reaching out to me and stay in touch! You can find me on Twitter @StrumSlinger. As many of you know, I work at PWE, which is in a different building than Cryptic. With Julia now working at Cryptic, it'll make developer communication much easier as she can just walk on over and bug them .

I really do hope I made a difference with the game as was my intention when taking this role on last year. I have every bit of faith in Thomas and Julia to bring Neverwinter to a place you guys all want it to be - they're awesome! I haven't decided if I should do one last live stream, but we'll see.

Remember, with great rolling comes great responsibility!

P.S. Before portals to the Nine Hells opens, it was a difficult one, but I made the decision to work on future projects as it was something I couldn't let go. I still love Neverwinter! I'll be happy to answer any questions you guys have in this thread.

For all of your hard work, particularly during some super crazy times, I'd like to say...

You're job wasn't an easy one, but it certainly was an full of interesting times to say the least!

Community Managers don't have the power to ban anyone from the game. Only from the forums.

Best wishes, its never easy dealing with any community. You did a good job here, considering how volatile things have been the last 1.5 years give or take.

1 hour really? I just asked a question and you come with your shield up. You should play a Guardian Fighter. (Heads up you don't need a beetle anymore since we don't need that much Defence anymore) Can't save em all Cpt.

Strum, sorry to hear you go. You've been with the community, trying to keep everyone optomistic when hard times fell. It's kind of weird knowing that you're not going to be the community mod anymore...
