Am I reading this right?

My SW is level 31 and I have been trying to buy a mount from the AH since about level 25. I keep getting some error message saying something about the item exceeds my account's maximum purchase price. Goes on to say something else about accounts with max level characters being exempt. Does this mean I can't purchase this until I'm level 70??

That is correct. You have to have at least 1 character at level 70 on your account to remove the restriction. This is due to all the people buying AD from 3rd party vendors, they put the restriction in as a type of deterrent.

Thank you very much for your response but that's ridiculous. (No offence to you, I know it's not your fault.)

How on Earth does that deter people from buying from those 3rd party folks. If anything, this is just another nail in the coffin for me.

I came to PS4 from PC as my PC died. I couldn't afford a new PC so, as I'd had a PS4 as a gift tried the game on here. I've already had to accept that my PC account wasn't transferrable which was a bit of a bitter pill after building it up for 2 years. But now I can't even purchase a mount until I'm level 70.

This really is utterly ridiculous and I fail to see how that is going to help. Maybe the devs need to stop the 3rd party sellers instead of punishing those wanting to play the game properly.

This game has lost a great deal of what made it so good, it's now just a grind fest. I might seriously have to find something new.

I want to say it's actually level 60, not 70.
    Unless they've upped it.

Past that, you get a free mount.

So are you wanting a fast mount?
You should still be able to get one in the Zen market.

As for the spending limitation, it is indeed to limit gold sellers, because now they can't work their system as easily.
That's not too say you can't buy a mount at all, you have a set amount you can spend.
    250k I think.

I know this doesn't answer your question but Level 25 to 31 should've taken you a few hours to achieve at the absolute most.

You can reach L60 in very quick time if you boost your XP gain.

Buy gear from the AH that has utility slots in the helm, arms & feet and put azure enchantments in them - rank 7's if you can. Each one gives you an 11% boost.

Join a guild (preferably one with an XP boon) and run the SH tasks - they give you enough XP to boost you about 2 levels per day.

You're high enough to do the Neverdeath Graveyard quests - there's a lot of missions in there and they give good XP. Remember that missions give you a lot more than just killing NPCs.

I started a new GF on the weekend and I'm now at L63 with only around 8 hours time spent on him.

Why are you playing a MMO if you don't want to grind for things?

I seriously don't get people who complain when a MMO games adds a grind element to it. I see this same complaint on the up coming DLC to DCUO. I don't even bother any more as MMO games have a grind; it is part of the game design. If you don't like grinding in a game like NW, DCUO, ESO, etc...than play a game where you don't need to grind to get the best items.

This game grind component is really not that bad actually. I don't see the issue with the game design from my POV.

It's generally pretty hard for players gain that kind of AD to buy an epic mount on the AH before they hit level 70. This is how it stops people from buying 3rd party. Generally if a low level player with no level capped characters has hundreds of thousands of AD, it is a sign that something's not quite right.

Or, they actually put cash into the game and bought Zen to convert to AD. It could be either.

Or they just bought zen like everyone else in this p2w game.

Buy a panther or bear @ 50k AD to get the 80% speed from AH, or zen market and use the coupon to get the 110% speed for $30.

Buying Zen through legit means unlocks the AD restrictions on the AH, so not really.

What is the AD spend cap for the newbies/lowbies? I started before it was implemented so I have no idea

  • It's generally higher than you can earn before you get to lvl 70, someone up there said 250k. If you haven't bought them and don't have an alt, either some generous soul gave you a ton, you have a bot running auction house posts and not playing the game, or you bought them off some 3rd party, which will get you banned because those accounts are bots/farms ruining the game and inflating prices for everyone and taking money that should go to the developers/publishers.
