We are recruiting active players. Your character does not need to be a specific class, or level, or item level or anything in order to join us. We recruit people, not characters. We do have a probationary period for new members and that is to let us get to know you, and vice versa. It is also so that we can ensure new members to the guild understand how we operate and what is expected of them.
What does Shen an Calhar mean?
Shen an Calhar is “The Band of Red Hand” in the Old Tongue from the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
The Band is essentially a mercenary army led by Captain General Matrim Cauthon.
Mat’s uncanny luck combined with the memories of hundreds of military commanders from history make them virtually unbeatable. The soldiers believe that they can never lose as long as Mat is leading them, and it is entirely possible that they are correct.
Why is the guild named Shen an Calhar instead of The Band of the Red Hand?
Before I founded the guild, the guild search told me that there was no The Band of the Red Hand guild, but when I went to name the guild, the system informed me that the name was in use.
The guild named The Band of the Red Hand appears to be a dead guild as I’ve never been able to find a single member of it online at any time.
