Making it like GW2 is indeed the way to go in order to bring life to pvp. Everyone can select from the same pool of gear with only the weapon being the one you already have. That way the gap between players boils down to blue weapon vs epic weapon vs legendary weapon. Still quite a gap but not even close to what it is now.

I splashed 20 PvP matches in 3 days, different time zone each day, going solo randomly on my 2.6k HR alt. Numbers:
19 games ended 1000-"under 100", because all the 19 times on the other team there was either a full premade or a 4-men premade and only in 1 match a 2-men half-premade (but it was 2x4k and the rest of the teams were 8x2kish or so)
1 game was a good fight (head-to-head and ended i believe 1000-940 or so.
In i believe 10 out of the 19 games with premades, the enemy team didn't allow to cap to 600 or allowed it but randomly killing people out of the blue to get some kill or just because the poor souls were bored.

Huh, I did run in to a lot of premades the first two or three days after SoloQ ended, but nowhere near the amount you've been experiencing.
Just tried my first pvp match in the domination game mode at 66 and had the same (probably worse) experience. Everyone 1 shotted me and the rest of my team, my entire team only spoke spanish and kept their mic's on while someone screamed at them in the background, and it was a 4(us)v5(them) match. We ended up getting spawn camped after the first 30 seconds of the match.
Lots of fun. I'm fine with having to grind to gear for pvp but getting 1 shotted by everything? And no balance in team matchmaking? Thats what kills it for me. From this in my opinion this games pvp will remain garbage until the devs find a way to balance it out because i've never experienced pvp in any mmo that was this bad from a first experience

You never played WoW then. Specially leveling bracket. One person with enchanted looms on can make or break an entire match with farming the other team. Spawn camping at that. Literally spawn camping with being up in the graveyard killing you as you spawn and nothing you can do but not rez. Every expansion and patch there is one OP one shot class at lower levels. Sometimes it is a warrior other times it is a hunter sometimes even a druid. Rarely a rouge a few times Pallies. Lol one time the hunters where so bad they could wear GREY equipment and one shot you. No joke. I had a prot warrior and was one shotted by a hunter right after patch. Looked at his char he was wearing trash equipment and most his equipment slots had nothing in them..
Not my point. Almost any MMORPG I have played has had some awful balance issues and it only takes on or two to start a one shot madness spawn camp fest. Like again in WoW the players class is random it is whoever ques so you may get a team full of nothing but healers. While this may sound good at some levels the damaged dealt can be one shotted and if you are one shotted you can not be healed. Other times you get NO healers and the other team has at least one good healer and no one on there team dies and you can not get there healer because he is so heavily guarded.
I have been playing MMORPG online since the late 90's. I have yet to play an MMORPG without pvp issues. Heck one game it was who had the most mages as they could one shot an entire map. True story bro mages could one shot an entire map.... That game actually went under. UO it was the archers till they fixed the hack that allowed them to spew an ungodly amount of arrows like a machine gun. (to be fair now it has one of the most balanced PVP I can think of one versus one yet most the time when you are on the pvp map you are ganked by reds.) Yet it is always something. Even ESO has issues. Which is a fairy new MMO. DEvilian another new mmo has some severe balance issues. Though once again it has plus side as everyone has the same equipment for pvp. Or so they say..... You can equip stuff but they said it is scaled down so your stats are the same stats as other players yet when you equip it and go into the match you can see you do much much better but they claim it is all in your head. If it in in your head the higher damage must be made in your head as well.... GW2 again they are issues there with balance and those are mostly focused around classes. Go in as a new player and see what I mean and get handed your own tush you will be rotated down faster than you can sneeze. That being said I DO like the pvp in GW2. It is different than any other mmo I have played.
Point being is NWO has a LOT of issues. Yet it is no more worse than other MMO's. Most of the ones here can be fixed relatively easy like. For instance Devs listening to players and fixing bugs faster. There are bugs from a year or more better that have yet to be addressed. Time sensitive bugs like CTA not scaling. Devs not seemingly listening to players. Focused too much on lockboxes and content not about the quality of life for players. The exponential amount of grinding required for boons that increases with more content makes it overwhelming for new players. NOT ALT FRIENDLY. TBH with the severe amount of gridning required for boons they should be account unlocks. Growing need of bags due to garbage you must collect to progress. the need for multiple sets of armor if you are both a pvp or pve player. The need to HAVE special armor to PVP or get one shotted. Yes I do realize that other games have this as well but not games where you are space limited as space cost money and more space you need the more it cost.
