Refining question

So being that it's double refinement points today, I'm trying to upgrade my Twisted skulls using my burning set.
My burning Talisman is at rank 47, which according to the charts should be around 1,674,400 rp. When I place my burning talisman in the slot to refine, it says 8X event bonus, but only says + 1,340,753.
Should that not be alot more if 8x bonus? I'm trying to get my twisted set to legendary, but now I'm not sure if I should put more refinement into my burning set before I feed them or not?
Any help would be appreciated as a little confused.

    You always lose 20% rp when refining one weapon into a new one.

    This, so put your burning set into the twisted one and refine that.

    PS. there is a chance, that the burning set crits, but I would not count on that.
    Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.
