Artifact Collection Sets - What do you think?

I was reviewing all the artifact collection and noticed that each set works well with specific classes. Outlined below. I also noticed that obtaining the neck and waist for most of the sets are not an issue. The bigger issue is the artifact. Getting that to drop or buying in the AH, which most cost 1M+, really makes me wonder if the set bonuses are worth the time and effort to grind out for them.

For instance, the set I'm working on is Imperial; however, I don't need the 25% extra fire damage to do my role and the artifact stats for Imperial set are not all that impressive IMO. I rather just get the Sigil of the Hunter and Control to fill out the two artifacts I want to replace.

As for the Seladarine set that makes perfect sense to me for my GF as a tank. Getting 2% of the health back after a hit for 10% or more. I mean it might not seem like a lot, but a small heal maybe the difference between beating a dungeon or failing it.

Lathander set IMO is to OP. If you revive you heal yourself and the group for 50%. Now with the Soulforge Armor Enchantment, OMG to OP and needs to be looked at for the stat bonus.

The Tiamat set is reasonable with +5% in healing out and healing in, which can be good for a healer, you need to keep yourself a live to keep the group alive.

Valindra set almost makes great sense for a CW, added bonus to control abilities and control resistance.

As for the rest of the sets I have not looked at them as I do not have a build that would use those sets. Though I heard Lostmauth set was OP at one time and was fixed.

How do you view the sets and if you see how another class can benefit from a set please explain.

IMO all classes using SoulFore with the Lathander set would benefit from having that set. I mean you go down and bam you are up and already at 50% of your health, to over powered, even if you don't need the rest of the stats from the gear.

Seldarine - GF/GWF
This set screams GF/GWF-Tank for the added AC, deflection, Con and Dex stats. The set bonus provides 2% in healing when you take 10% of HP in damage.

Tiamat - OP/DC
This set screams healers with added power, recovery, Wis and Cha. The set bonus provides +5% in healing out and healing in, which would benefit a OP more than a DC as DC are range for attacks and OP are melee.

Lathander - OP
This sets screams OP tanks for the added defense, AC, and power. Benefits an OP healer as well.

Imperial - DC/HR
This set adds power, crit and recovery. The set also improves the damage out with the full set as it can process an additional 25% in fire damage.

Black Ice -SW/OP
These classes are the only ones really to make use of this set with the SW really gaining some nice increases here and the same with the Pally Justice build tank. Though I think Lavander is better for more AC.

Valindra - CW
This set screams CW all over it even the set bonus is specifically designed for a CW.

Lostmauth - TR/GWF/HR / GF

This set screams melee DPS. It is why it is the most sought after set in the game. Three of the striker classes get bonuses from this set. I know SW looking for this set as well but the stats on the belt are better designed for melee based DPS.

Demogorgon - GWF/GF
This set works well for GWF and GF for DPS. Boost in STR and CON. Both helpful stats for both classes as a DPS.

What do other think about the set bonuses.

I'm still hunting for the last parts of the Lostmauth set for my TR and Lathander for my OP. Then I guess I'll have to start collecting Lostmauth again for my HR. Oh the grind lol

You know the set bonus are ok IMO. I read through them all and if you are missing another stat than you have modify your gear, mount power, etc to ensure you have balance for your character.

I have 3 mount powers I can use on all characters: 2K Power, 2K Defense, and the last one is 1K in Critical Strike and 1K in Armor Pen.

This way I can change the mount power to optimize my character based on content I plan to run.

When I state ok let's look at the two I'm aiming for ATM. First Imperial set has a chance to process 25% of your weapon damage as Fire. Now, my weapon damage isn't high and therefore my processing 25% of it as fire won't make or break my character. The stats on the artifact have to entice me enough to use it and the imperial artifact does nothing for me as a DC other than the bonus for getting the set. Instead I decided to get a HR and CW up to end game for the Sigil of the Hunter and Sigil of the Controller for those artifacts as they work better with my build than going after the 1.5M AD Imperial artifact.

The Seldarine set artifact gives me 2% of my health if I get hit for 10% or more of my health on my GF. This means I have to get hit for over 10K for the set to trigger. Not bad. But I'm not going to sweat it if I don't get one as that one is costing around 4-7M AD in the AH. No desire to grind for it.

As for the Lostmauth set, again, I am going with a CW first and yeah that set bonus is good but it got fixed so it has less impact to a CW than the melee classes, so I will not be going after that set for that character. I will not be going after the Valindra set either, again another highly costly set. I will mix and match and get both artifact gear and artifacts that will strengthen the build I have planned for my CW.

Unfortunately I don't plan to play my HR past 60. I am only running him to get the Artifact for my DC. If I do plan to use him past 70, than I will have to grind out for the Lostmauth set and I know how to, it is called using a DC or GF to get into those runs and simply give any of those pieces I get to my HR. :)

I find it interesting I see call out for Lostmauth but many of the support players don't need that gear. LOL...

Yeah there are a ton of people hunting Lostmauth - funny thing the bits of it I do have dropped for my pally, my TR has only had drops for support characters. I keep finding the wrong set gear for the character I'm on. Strange how that works out.

Gear you get is account bound. Keep that in mind. Many players don't realize that and simply salvage the item instead of holding onto it for another character.

The things I'm working on are this..

    1) Leveling up my CW for the Sigil for my main, need the stats this sigil has.
    2) Refining Artifacts Gear
    3) Farming for a 2nd 142 ring for my main

I don't want to waste my time running content that does not provide me the loot I need. I don't run Lostmauth as I don't need the gear from there and I have two character that can easily get into those instances if I wanted. A buffing/debuffing DC and a buffing GF.

If you want me in any of those runs I have a price, I would like a water Archon and I would run it 5x for whoever gave me the water Archon, I don't care about the ranking/level of it. I just want a water Archon.

I would even be willing to offer a trade of sort, I would trade whatever Lostmauth gear I get for an Air or Fire Archon.

This is open to anyone who needs a healer/buffer or a buffing GF tank.

I don't know exactly where in the development pipeline PS4 is right now, but on PC the set bonuses are kind of a mess now.

Many people favored lostmauth set because the extra hit on crit scaled with buffs (not working as intended) and resulted in a huge unintended damage bonus. This went on for about a year but was fixed sometime this summer on PC, nerfing the bonus into the ground. Following the nerf, the only set bonus that has a noticeable impact on DPS is the orcus set. Those that didn't want to pay big money for orcus stuck with lostset, or didn't bother with a set bonus at all. All of the other damage sets haven't been updated since the lvl 70 cap increase so the damage they provide is practically zero. For CWs, for instance, the best dps combination is valindra belt + lostset neck and different artis, so no set bonus at all.

Some of the utility sets make an appearance (lathander, sela, occasionally imperial) on support/tank characters.

PS4 will be in the same boat in 18 days. :) We will have mod 10 along with all the prior updates making PS4 = PC.

I'm hoping and I mean hoping, we soon get put onto one server. I mean why not. XBox opened up that up earlier this year and PS never had that restriction, so why not make NW the first game where PC, PS4 and XBox all share 1 server.

Now it would better suited if they did this and gave us regional servers such as US/EU/Asia. IMO, that would be the way to go.

diablo 3 follows that same path, ps4 xbox 1 and pc are on all the same format. they all get the same updates and patches. its just the pc version has a little more in game like seasons and stuff that the consoles cant do.

Where can I find info on obtaining these sets? More specifically, the Seldarine?

Where can I find info on obtaining these sets? More specifically, the Seldarine?

Seldarine...you can buy the greater belt and neck in the AH for around 75K. Around 60K for the neck and around 15K for the belt.

The artifact itself in the AH goes for around 4M. If you want the artifact you have to run Malaborg castle. I spammed it one day, 10 runs and got nothing for my attempts. Now I run it 1x a day as my epic dungeon which I rarely beat as most pug groups players cannot play to a high enough level to complete content.

Thank you sir. I think I may set that as one of my goals, though I assume I'll be in the same boat... struggling to complete the dungeon.

What is your class. Are you a GF tank. If so all you really need is the belt and neck. The artifact set provides you 2% HP as a heal if you take a hit that removes 10% or more of your HP.

Say you have 100K in HP and you get hit for 15K in damage, you would get 2K healing. IMO, give me the drowned weapon set as it provides 50% of your HP over 30 seconds and refreshes every 1 minute. So every 30 seconds you are getting a small heal from the drowned set. it lack defense compared to the Elemental Fire set but it has more HP and better damage out stats because the max IL for the drowned is 5IL higher than the Elemental Fire set and with PS4 moving over to the latest patch on 10/18; super high DR does not help ITF any more.

What you do want are artifacts that increase DEFENSE, DEFLECTION and HP. Those are your main as long as you are going for a pure tank build. You can check all artifact stats out in the collection area under our Items.

IMO best artifacts to have for a GF include Sigil of the Devoted for quicker AP gain, Sigil of the Guardian and any two that provides a bonus to Defense and one of the other two stats.
