Hello,

I am thinking on getting myself a heal char and I am struggling. What are the pros and cons of both?

Also: Can you directly level as heal char? Or are you forced to respecc?

thanks!

the negative of a healer is that at end game people simply don't need them. So as you progress eventually you get stuck playing with low ilvl people to be useful or respecing.

You can level as a healer but it is slower. Ideally you get a good dps companion to help deal damage while you heal and help with damage. While leveling make sure you keep your armor pen at an appropriate level to maximize your damage potential. In group content dc healers do not need armor pen; however, paladins do. Leveling in neverwinter is pretty quick so it's up to you if you mind a bit slower leveling in order to not respec at end game.

Paladins are the superior healer class while a dc can heal and out peform OP as buff/debuff roles in party (you don't have to heal damage you mitigate). This also gives you flexibility to evolve your character at end game to more buff/debuff if DC.

At high ilvl dc is much more popular than a healadin.

    Thanks !

I guess I'll use my old Cleric as buff/heal then.
