How about making paladin a debuff & debuffer

I was thinking about this a lot and instead of nerfing Devotedcleric and GF why don't they make bulwork path a Debuff & Buffer like cleric and GF so it has that synergy with the GF and Devotedcleric basically making it needed together with GF & Devoted cleric in every dungeon run just an idea. What you guys think about that?

    Well the GF is getting a nerf because it buffs beyond the intended amount, so that'll happen regardless.

    The Pally does have de/buffs but they do not compete with the GF. Aura of Courage gives 1.3% (1% base plus 30% at 4 points) of the Pallys HP as extra damage to allies within 30 feet - which at 150k HP would be around 2k. It's power share is a generous 25% but only to allies within 30 feet and after they've been in range for 6 seconds. These need to be widened to the same range as GF skills.

    Even after the GF nerf these do not compete with ITF with its 25% total DPS increase - and the fact their buff has a far wider range. Knights Valor is a semi-bubble but as it's a passive it remains on permanently - but for the Pally, both Divine Protector and Binding Oath have had serious nerfs. Ok, DP needed a nerf as it was effectively God Mode but they should've rewritten it to an effective alternative rather than just cutting its up-time by 70%.

    I've also found (through experimentation) that to maintain effective threat, the Pally has to deal constant high level damage to all enemies in the area. This would be fine if Aura of Radiance was buffed to produce it's current DPS but once per second rather than every 3 seconds, bumping it up the threat table and dealing constant AOE damage - this would address a lot of the 'attractiveness' issues by giving them a passive aggro-magnet skill (on a par with the GF passive DR skill - KV). They may not be able to buff to the same extent as a GF but they would out-threat them and as such have a place in groups. A change to Aura of Radiance alone could be the answer to most of the OP problems.

    Why they just no make pally a super threat holder instead of trying to dps while trying to sheid yourself basically would make it easier well I'm not playing pally now I made a devoted cleric and its better also the aura range should be wide or just put no aura and just class feature like gf

    The funny thing about the Bulwark tree is that is increases the OP survival but decreases his DPS ability. As nothing on that feat path increases threat, the Bulwark pally does a good job of being the last man standing but nothing else - the enemies won't even start hitting him until everyone else is dead. This should be addressed by changing the feat capstone to a threat mega-multiplier whenever Divine Call is used - as such the Bulwark path becomes what it was probably intended for - an aggro tank.

    The Justice path should be for buffing, and they actually are - they are however pathetic. E.g:

    * sometimes run faster when hit. Why? Pallies are supposed to stand and take it...
    * when you drop below 50% health you get 10% lifesteal. Why lifesteal? Tanks stack defence & deflect and with a 10% chance of getting HP back when the pally has a slow attack rate is just bad. Better to add 10% to deflect.
    * While no allies are within 30' of you, all foes who come within 30' of you are snared - Not being much of a Tank if you're standing more than 30' away from your team - it should be when allies ARE within 30' of you!
    * Activating a Daily power causes you to become a beacon of hope for 6 seconds. Randomly 3 allies within 30' who have taken damage will be healed for 50/100/150/200/250% of your weapon damage every 2 seconds. - Yeah that's about 13.5k healing over 6 seconds whenever you use your daily. Mildly useful if you're team's not getting 1-shot I guess but why not all 4 allies in your group?
    * You also get a chance at reducing everyones' cooldowns - that's useful

    So that's about it for buffing your group via feats. Truly bad.

    Ya if only snared was a team buff at 30percent lol I wouldn't keep getting kicked from dungeons or groups when they in same guild its always gf over my pally. also getting 1 shot by orcus as a protection pally is another reason on getting kicked from cn pls rework pally next as its a new class and I love my pally but getting stressed cause of these things

    Even with the nerf to ITF I can still see the GF being more desirable in group content than the OP, I was of the opinion that they were trying to put us on a more equal footing with the most resent "class balance" but with the upcoming nerf to BO they just continue to take and take but give nothing in return, yes they have finally fixed the threat generation issue of BO but that was supposed to work from the beginning and the sanctuary increase is worthless because unlike GF we can't attack while blocking, and most of the time there is a delay in sanctuary activation anyway, just try using it while face tanking a Boss, it's just another disappointment in a long string of disappointments for the paladin class.

    Re Snared - yep, snare when allies are within 30' AND make the snare generate significant threat for the pally!
