I have read that there is/was a cap on AP gain over 1000. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

I am sitting on 900 at the moment.. I am considering a Heart of the Black Dragon or a Black Ice Beholder art for the rec and armpen. As you know, the cost difference between the two is substantial, but if the extra AP Gain would be worth it, I would go with the Heart of the Black Dragon. From that video I would go from 7.9 now to about 9.5. Not sure ~1.6% would be noticeable in the end. Probably would be better off boosting my recovery another 600 and get the same effect with 3% more recovery.

First of all, the guy in that video is mixing up different stat groups - There isn't diminishing returns on Crit, Arm Pen, Rec, etc. However most of these have soft caps - stacking Crit above 100% is pointless, Arm Pen past your Resistance Ignored of -60% (in PVE) is pointless, etc.

There IS diminishing returns on the new stats: Control Bonus, Control Resist, Action Point Gain, Companion Influence, Incoming Healing, Stamina/Guard Gain, Combat Advantage - all of these start to see a huge drop of ROI once you cross the 1000 mark. Since the introduction of these stats in Mod... 5? (my memory is failing me here), these have always had these points where increasing the stat is useless.
