Should I respect and regear more critical based. So I can semi dps. Running a 10% critical build atm slow to solo but can still make my way. Low IL atm early 2000s
Just with lack of owlbear cub debating changing it up.
Plan to be tank for my guild and general play.
Swap to more critical and respec or stay as I am.
P.s.what EE weapon . thinking drown unless fire really best pick. Sence mod 9 still

also the self-healing from water is semi-helpful if you're still learning your way around as a tank, or soloer, as it can save you if you mis-time an ability. unfortunately it doesn't wait for you to take health damage to trigger... it starts as soon as anything hits you, whether it's to your health, temp hp's, or the myriad of shields. thus why it's only semi-helpful, heh.
also, and i scoffed at this at first, until i tried it myself... armor pen for our dps first, then worry about crit. i've only just started switching gear for AP and just going from 12% to 23% has made a huge impact on my solo kill speeds in IWD. may even be able to kill a bear rider in less than 4 minutes if i get AP near max.
can't really say anything about your build or if you should look at respeccing... you did not post your build for review
Was thinking https://nwcalc.com/index.html#/op?b=2v37:zb5oan:9f2c:5yjl1,1lil023:15u5551:1000000:1u0z000&h=0&p=oop&o=0
I wouldn't go stack critical hit chance just to do more damage. remember your best abilities are tank & utility.
This does not mean you should avoid critical hit chance completely. but dont use enchantments with critical hit chance.
Here what i did to my op (on PC) even without owlbear I could do decent damage with Pure Plaguefire enchantment. This way i didnt need to stack a lot of armor penetration very high.
Here's what i did to my feats (HUMAN): https://nwcalc.com/index.html#/op?b=1oa5:k6rwk5:8dep:5tb7d,1uil0b3:1uu55u1:1000000:1u0z000&h=1&p=oop&o=0
Our best buff at the moment is aura gifts which mean you need high amount of power. You really cant afford to go critical hit.
I did focus on charisma/constitution.
You can check video here:
arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1221665/so-can-you-become-a-decent-dps-aura-gift-buff-op-tank-without-owlbear-video
All that bonus you can do during a fight is just nice to have but NOT a must. If you focus too much on dps you will be less attractive to parties because of the lower power buff they get.
Before people jump all over this, I know high recovery you can spam your encounter almost indefinitely. What's the use when you hit like a plush doll. Yes you can survive almost anything but again a plush doll.
I myself have a decent build for a prot pally. I will admit I'm not the best but I rarely die and normally come in second or third in damage delt( depends on the group make up). This is in a group of similarly gear people.
By no means am I BiS. I'm only 2865ilvl and still growing.
In the end hoss its up to you how you build your toon, and how you play. I play reckless and love it. Maybe that's not you, you build and play how you deem fit.
Plague Fire and other debuffs actually increase the damage taken by the mob from all sources as its way to reduce it's defense. So a dumbed down example to illustrate, if you have 10% RI and the mob you are fighting 50% Resistance are doing only 1000 damage, You will do 600 damage (40 % loss from RI) and plaguefire will boost it to 870. Where if you had 50% RI you would do the full 1000 damage and boosted to 1450 with PF. 66% higher.
Edit to add it is a moot point anyway as PS4 in addition to the owlbear cub does not have Plaguefire or Dread.

Don't aim to build for crit, just don't shy away from it.
Going fire/twisted weapons are your best bet. A couple days or 5 hours of farming with a decent group and 2 wands. Water weapons aren't good for a paladin imho, if you need the heal you're doing something wrong.
All my armor pen comes from mount insignias and some of my artifacts.
Get a dread warrior as it really helps with maintaining threat, also work on getting a lightning enchantment and a negation.
Soloing I run templars, burning, sacred/smite/relentless/circle of power, I run courage and solitude with an augment.
Grouping is templars, binding, burning/bane (for bosses) courage and wisdom, I also run a bonding companion with 2 protecters com and 1 protecters friend, with all my procs I'm sitting at 30-40k power and 20k defense.
Both my augment and bonding have power/crit equips.
Some of my powers and paragon feat choices are geared for pvp, can take points out of vengeance and cleansing to put other places, circle of power only needs 1 point. The 1st tier in light and justice can easily be swapped.
On my phone sorry structure is off
