Guild 12 with no alliances wants to join a Helm 10 guild

Ok, so this is a new one on me. I have a guild hall which is level 10 and we are the HELM. I currently have 1 sword and 3 gauntlet guild positions open. Now there is a ranked 12 guild that would like to join my alliance and be under us. Would not the system automatically make them the HELM guild? Has anyone heard of this being possible or is it possible? Please advise. Thanks.

    From what I have seen the system does not put the guilds in order of rank, a Helm can invite 3 swords, and in turn the swords can invite 3 gauntlets. It seems to position the guilds based on who sent the invite and nothing more.
