Control Bonus and Control Resist ratings

What do they mean for HRs? My understanding is that Control Bonus affects grasping roots and dazes and is only really useful to Trappers, speaking from a pve perspective. I'm not sure about Control Resist, though, but I reckon it reduces stuns, prones etc. Anyone care to elaborate for me please? I'm sitting with Control Bonus on my Archer from Lostmauth's Horn of Blasting and Control Resist from Sigil of the Controller. With 2xRP coming up I am considering dropping the Lostmauth set as the proc is really meaningless these days since Aimed Shot is my main attack.

i found in the other subforums this:100% control resist=-50% control duration....but im not sure about if this works in "stun situation".......

Roots no longer have their duration reduced or aumented by control bonuses, except from elven battle.
Control resist reduces the duration of stuns, slows, inmobilizes. it does not affect prones or knocks, so the knock back of repel still stuns the same.
Deflecting an attack can reduce the control duration by the amount of deflect severity, so a TR with 85% deflect severity, get stuned for 85% less time if deflected, deflection even reduces prones and knocks.

Stun/root duration in PvP have been negligible for years, back in mod 2, the roots were like rubber bands, which were hilarious, as people would end up sailing around the map in arcs, there was nothing funnier than seeing a gif straining to get to you then suddenly 'boing' he'd be off back to where he started. Constricting was even better, 3 separate stuns, at intervals of one second.

Ofc. The qq from the PvP crowd soon got that altered. In short, control bonus is useless for HRs in PvP.
No idea what my toon is now.

So as I suspected Control Bonus is useless for Archery in pve and Control Resist is marginally useful at least. Lostmauth set didn't last long :p

In PvE the main advantage of control resist is with powers like DragonFear or Demogorgon paralysis that keep you there for a long time and make you an helpless target for a follow-up power (like Lostmauth stalactites).

Actually Control Resist does nothing to things like Demo's AoE. I have a Trans Elven Battle and all Boons giving extra Control Resist.

The resist is amazing and noticeable against the Dragons etc... But Demo will freeze everyone the same... same with Orcus he has an AoE which Control Resist does nothing towards.

You're right on Demo. I stand corrected.

    No worries :)

Control Resist is utterly amazing still I think, I spend very little time controlled by anything including all the Dragons in the game (Roar) etc.

Control Bonus though, so many people say it is useless and I really struggle on the X1 to see if it actually makes much difference in PvE. Excess points have to go somewhere though (when you are 3.5k IL and above) so I stick 1000 in Control Bonus... Just because putting them elsewhere will do next to nothing due to Stat point diminishing returns.
