For some reason my DC keeps targeting my companion, any way to stop this?

This has been happening for quite some time. When I'm quickly casting spells on a target every now and again it will switch to my companion. Is there any way to keep this "auto switch" from happening and to keep my enemy target? You've no idea how frustrating it is to waste spells like this.

    Hah, a frustration I know all too well. You do have the option to turn off auto-targeting but I tried that and it sucked too.

    My solution was to use an augment companion as they are non-targetable. I went with an ioun stone - the cheapest of which is 1k zen from the store.

    Turn off AOE aim assist in the options menu. I have had zero problems since I did this.
