I admit when I play RPGs I always start with a backstory the first part is a profession
My main was a con artist until he was almost killed by an angry mark since then he wanders in service to the gods. He is still a bit cutthroat when it comes to business deals though...
Alt 1: A simple farmer but was displaced when his farmhouse was burned by bandits his anger at what life has dealt him causes him to do stupid stuff.
Alt 2: A tiefling who frew up with nothing and struggled every day. he became a thief who robed the rich blind yet always split it with the rest of the poor in his community. it is because of him that many of them are still alive. No one can decide if he is a saint or a criminal He hates unnecessary violence and prefers diplomacy but when he does fight he can end it fast
