They are giving us a option to get away from the trapper build, but not going to rush into it. Am I wrong? I still seem to be doing ok with the trapper build. And I still dont trust that I would survive any better as an archer. Not without a way to control the enemy. Trapper still gives me enough soft control I need to survive.

Until I see people coming up with superbly performing Archery and Combat builds for PvE, I see no reason why you should rush away from Trapper. My considerations have been rather simple: 1) Am I still having fun with Trapper?; 2) Does Trapper still 'work' with the changes to Swiftness of the Fox?; 3) Am I gimping my performance by staying Trapper?

First two I answered with 'Yes'. Third, we'll have to see.

I suspect the changes to Fox will mean we'll see Trapper builds who dip two/three into other trees soon. Might want to wait and see how those turn out.

We have looked into reports of players experiencing connection problems and have been unable to identify any server, data center, or client-side issues. We believe this may be ISP related.

I'm slowly getting used to Combat. At present I tend to run with longstrider's/hinder/cordon and use Split Shot/Strike for main at-will. In a CN run I didn't do as well as I would have as a trapper, but I'm still learning on the job here. Most things die right away. In pvp I haven't setting on a rotation yet and I when I've tried to learn from fights against Razorleaf I was usually fighting against too many other players to pay close attention to what he was doing. What you want to do is obviously turn in your Lostmauth set for the Imperial set. You'll lose some power and armor pen, but armor pen means nothing when you have piercing damage (Razorleaf runs with around 2k armor pen in pvp; I invite you to try beating him) and you need the extra recovery for AP gain when you aren't a trapper.
