About paying to join guilds.

I just wanted to make this post for inexperienced players getting taken advantage of. First it's your money spend it how you like. With that said there is 0 reason to spend $75 to join a guild. First off they can kick you out at anytime and guess what, that is $75 down the drain. Also there are other high level guilds out there. They just don't brag on the forums and Reddit. The guild I am a part of is gh4 about to be 5. I didn't find them on here or Reddit. I found them in game. Go to well of dragons and just ask if any active end game guilds are recruiting. Don't do it in pe too much spam. I personally know of 3 other guilds that are level 4 that don't charge a dime. I'm not gonna advertise them cause it's not my place. Also if you run some end game content and like they way a player plays and notice the have a group ask if they are recruiting. Lastly I just wanted to let the new players know that there are others ways to join high level guilds without paying real money or astral diamonds. Just don't be taken advantage of thinking they are the only guild clearing end game content. That is far from the truth. Do some research and use that $75 to upgrade your character or invest in zen to flip it and have a nice bank roll of ad.

If someone pays 75 dollars to join a guild they are mentally ill.

Well I won't say they are mentally ill. They are just uninformed and taken advantage of. There is a guy who streams Neverwinter ps4 as a paladin. His guild is level one. But he used money and invested in his character. He is pretty much unkillable in pvp. I have watched him in games against the big guild mentioned here and he destroys them. It's much better to invest in yourself (character) than a guild run by people you have never met who can kick you at anytime. Spend $75 to get in thinking you are getting something you can't get anywhere else and that's just not true.

If you're paying to join a guild, tbh, you're not paying for YOUR enrichment, you're paying for the guy that runs it and their elite circle of friends, and your usefulness ends when the money does or when they need another set of gullible newbies to pony up even more cash. That same 75 dollars, spent on ZEN, could buy you pretty much anything you could possibly need. Or build your own guild up to something.

Bottom line: There's no sense in paying someone else to join their guild when you can do the same with your own.

I never knew people charge money to join a guild. But why would anyone pay? I know I wouldn't.

the guild you are talking about is charging 5 sh packs at 3500 zen each.. that's more like 175 dollars not 75.
  • Well. I suppose this would be true assuming you put money into the game via your wallet. Many of the people joining the guild you are all referencing have made the 5 SH packs via working the market and selling items. Few have bought Zen from the store at all lmao. Also, those pack are used towards the guild for the SH levelling process. Please kindly find out the proper information before spreading rumours.

On xbox my guild was the 3rd to reach GH20 and the only one of the first 5 to do so without charging members an entry fee or having daily/weekly demands for AD, Gold, Campaign currencies etc - our only requirement was that people run daily influence.

We are now helm of a successful alliance where all member guilds follow the same principle. Our members now donate most of their influence to other allied guilds as we've nearly completed all the other small structures (e.g. pvp towers) and we're sitting on a spare 1 mill inf.

What it does require is that everyone from rank 1 to 7 supports the guild's progress and work collectively. Our major source of donations was from dragonflight runs. This is a win/win for the guild and members, the members need the fangs for DF armor and the guild needs the certificates & boxes for the coffer.

Organising groups for 15 man SH heroics is also another positive event.

What I would say is the leadership need to be focused, positive and inclusive. Members take their cue not from what the leaders say, but from what they do, so they have to set the example.

Who cares? When I raided in top guilds on WoW we charged for carries, we didn't force anyone. It was an option for people that wanted to spend money or gold. Some work for it, some pay for it. Welcome to MMOs

hah right. it takes money to make money. I'm an avid player of the ah exchange. yes you can make millions but you need to start with millions to to make that kind of money. yes you can buy and sell and make money, but this early on... it's all bought and paid for. people aren't just earning that kind of zen this early on from scratch without paying a dime. there have been a few good periods on the ah but mostly it's been a penny spread with a huge wall on either side that sort of implies if it goes anywhere its going down so highly risky to day trade it.

and sure it's all going back into the coffer. I totally believe that ( swamp land in florida anyone?)

these are the same people that had their gearscore up to 3k first week. they totally earned in in game when there was no ad in the game didn't they? lol. ya crack me up. we aren't stoopid.

and yes it definitely can be done without bleeding your turnips dry.

and it's true about people buying their way up dropping it earlier which is really ironic considering how much actual cash they've put into the game. I remember doing that with mass effect (although the dollar amount was low) I ended up quitting right after I did that. I was like why am I playing this again?
