Once again a failed Cloak Tower due to inconsiderate or unintelligent people...
Some guy didn't ever join the dungeon. When we came into Cloak Tower it was partially finished (only the final boss needed to be killed), meaning there were 0 obstructions for the other party member. I had to do something and said "brb" and came back about 30 seconds later.
I noticed while running through CT that the 3rd guy still never connected so I tried to vote kick him since he wasn't there and we wouldn't be able to complete the dungeon.
Apparently the other party member tried to kick me because every time I try to call it vote it states that there is a "vote in progress". No amount of PMing the missing player got him to enter the instance or leave the party but he did change maps from Protector's Enclave to Blackdagger Ruins.
A simple vote time out would solve this issue and I'm surprised that it isn't already part of the voting system. Also, what's so bad about showing who called a vote on someone else?
Finally, we should be able to move around our camera and continue playing then decide on a vote while in a dungeon. Sometimes we can't tell if someone is calling a BS vote or not and need to confirm that person deserves to be kicked. I'm all for kicking trolls and other morons out of dungeons but only if they actually deserve to be kicked. With the current system we risk kicking innocent people due to a grudge another player has or incorrect information/assumptions. How are we to decide on removing someone from a dungeon without being able to gather information? Why not have a timer on the vote and allow us to continue playing instead of forcing us to vote before doing anything else?
These are pretty standard features of a voting system and have been for several years in games which support vote-kicks.
TL;DR:
- Add a timer to votes that counts down
- Allow people to continue playing while deciding on the vote
- Show who called a vote to kick who
