Each day, Harper Boward sends you to complete the "Common Cause" quest in one of the ToD zones. One of the requirements is always a "lair" - Ghost Stories, Barrow Demolition, A Miner Problem, Forged in Fire, and Ancient Treasures. Ghost stories is given by Boward, the others are handed out by friends standing around her.

If you haven't unlocked the appropriate zone for that day, it'll instead send you to a zone you have unlocked and give you the respective quests.

If you drop the daily lair quest you should be able to pick it up back up from Boward or one of her friends, but sometimes it's a little finicky. Either way you should have no problem getting tomorrow's quest.

One word of caution about "common cause" quest - if you don't complete it the day you take it, you should drop it. The "lair" component won't update and since the lairs rotate you might not be able to get the right quest on the following day. If you drop and re-add common cause it should give you the lair for that day.

In theory you can complete the lair without having the appropriate quest, provided someone in your party has the quest active and can open the door for you. This counts as a completion for "common cause" but won't give you the chest reward at the end of the lair.

Hope that's not too much info...

No...sounds good. So I have Mithral mine from the other day, drop that one also?

You don't actually have to drop them, you can go complete them for the arcane lore if you want. But there's no harm in dropping them.

Given that you've unlocked a few zones (if you have MM), I bet you had GS hanging around your journal from a previous day. When you dropped it and tried to get it back, it wasn't around since a different "lair" quest was active that day.

If you come back each day, Ghost Stories will be back in a couple days. Not that it's anything special (just needed to complete Common Cause that day)

None of the Common Cause quests such as ghost stories work for me, no matter who I talk to or what gates I try to activate. Tyranny of Dragons is an impossible campaign because of this game breaking bug.

Thank you Dupeks! I am level 70 and still didn't get why the common quest worked so easy some days and others was impossible. That explanation helps a ton

I have made up a routine that has seemed to help with the issues I was having getting missions for this campaign.

I first go and grab all the quests from the Harpers in PE, then I go to Neverdeath and grab the quests from her, go kill a dragon and do the side quests, takes anywhere from 5 to 15 min depending on if I get lucky and Char is already up. Turn in with Harper in Neverdeath, then go back to PE, and if I had a quest that bugged on me I should have gotten but didn't, it will then be there, every time (so far...knock on wood). I got stalled 4 days due to some of the same issues people have been saying, and since it got "fixed" I've developed this routine, and it hasn't let me down...yet.

The "main" issue I have had is I don't get the daily lair quest when I first pick them up, and that has been every day since my quest line started "working" again, but doing the above seems to keep them coming for some reason.
