Suggestion about the Gold sellers

artanisenartanisen Member Posts: 159 Arc User
Been awhile since i played, Came back to take a look and game looks great.
Was completely shocked how quiet it was in PE. But i have a suggest that might
put an end to gold sellers. The main issue is they create multiple accounts and no one else
has more then 2 or 3 accounts at most.

So i suggest PE/cryptic adopt the security measure from star conflict.
They limit each user to 3 accounts per device to eliminate multi accounts
and after the limit is reach the user gets a message " exceeded number of
accounts for this device" if they try to create any more accounts. And if anyone
wants to add a new account they have to contact support to remove One of the
accounts for a new one.

Hope this suggestion helps.

That would limit the users to playing on a specific device. If a user has a PC and a laptop, or if the user buys a new PC, its game over without a lot of hoops being jumped through.

Actually the way it works. It limits how many accounts can be open on one computer.
You can open the account on any computer/device but it permanently link it to that device.

Who needs multiple accounts. This idea would shut down some folks with just one account.

I know for me personally, I prefer to play NW on my desktop. But there are times when my laptop works best. And then we have the gateway. I access that with either my phone or tablet. Would those devices have to be registered as well?

So just for me alone, with but a single account, would I have to register all 4 devices. Or only 3 and have to ditch one?

I think we players have paid enough for the bot problem. Im not willing to pay, be punished, or inconvenienced any further. This is entertainment, it shouldnt feel like waiting in line for a government service.

The way i see it. the best way to compare it to.
It is no different thin the account guard, but it
stops people from continuously opening accounts on one computer.
Your allowed to continue to make new accounts
but you wont be able to get on those new accounts
until the previous first 3 accounts are removed. but
you have to go through customer support to request
that. So you end up stuck with those 3 accounts you made first on
    one computer.

Far as i can tell on star conflict theirs no registration required.
    Everything is automatic.

I did figure some wouldn't understand it. When i first ran into it
been playing on and off so kinda forgot some info and accidentally
made 4 accounts and ran into that. So ended up trying to search
info on it and thought it was pretty neat feature. So thought it
would be a nice feature to suggest seeing how this game is still kinda
    plagued with bots still.

so it is no different thin account guard and it limits each device to 3 accounts.
so you can open your account on any device you want. Like each device has 3 strikes,
so i used up my 3 strikes on this computer.

    Hope that helps explaining it.

With virtual machines, you can create as many computer/device as you want. It is pretty easy to change the device identity. In addition, people may use more than one PC to play one account (not at the same time).
e.g. one at home and one at work; one with laptop and one with desktop.
some may play in internet gaming place.

but that would be to much of a hassle even for gold sellers.

So if three people in a household share one computer, each can still create three accounts for that game?
And if each has a personal computer, and a laptop, each could have 18 accounts?
How does Star Conflict cope with IP Spoofing and virtual machines?

You would have to ask them that. The staff over there aren't exactly forthcoming
with information and answering questions and the staff over there is pretty
    much non existent.

Virtual Machines is the easy answer - but they are limited to the PC resources
    IP spoofing not even needed

Horrible idea, period. Its a game not a registration office.

The mods can lock the thread now. at this point i know
it was already looked at. and it will just end up inviting
the wrong people to come troll. For example in the above
    post.

They still haven't brought back missing dungeons. This would be a pointless measure as undoubtedly the botters use VMs each with unique mac/ip and machine ids.

If anything, this would only hurt families that share a single machine and might be playing this game.

To date, all measures supposedly enacted to combat bots have had no impact on botters but have only hurt the legitimate players. This one probably wouldn't have much effect on anyone, certainly not on botters.

The 3 account limit mention above is on star conflict.
On here for neverwinter it will probably be little More.
The whole idea is subject to change if the devs decide to
    accept the suggestion.

Lots of people have all kinds of ideas about how to 'solve' this problem. If it really were as easy as some think it is, the bots and sellers would have been gone decades ago. For ever person who has a potential solution, there are probably a dozen spammers working to break it as soon as it's implemented.
