Damage & Damage Resistance Calculations For Guardian Fighter

I have been searching for a detailed explanation of how damage resistance works for a Guardian Fighter, but have come up short. Does anyone know how exactly DR and damage are calculated with a GF running Knights Valor? Looking for detail on if our Ally's DR comes into play and how the shield helps mitigate dmg received through KV. Also, when is deflection factored in?
I see several potential scenarios on how DR could be calculated. It will make a big difference to my re-build strategy once the Into The Frey nerf hits. IE: Which enchants I use once I drop my DR to 40%.
Potential Scenarios (I don't know if these are correct):
Assume these constants;
1.) GF's DR is 40%
2.) GF is running Knight's Valor for total DR of 80%.
3.) Ally's DR is 20%
4.) GF and Ally have 0% deflection chance
5.) 100% of the dmg redirected by KV hits the GF's shield (80% reduction)
6.) Enemy has 0% Armor Pen
A: 100,000 dmg is directed to Ally and is reduced to 80,000 by their DR. The 80,000 dmg is split 50/50 between Ally and GF. 40,000 dmg hit's GF's shield and is reduced to 8,000 dmg. 8,000 dmg hits GF's DR and is reduced to 1,600. Total of 1,600 being removed from GF's HP.
B: 100,000 dmg is directed to Ally. The 100,000 dmg is split 50/50 between Ally and GF. 50,000 dmg hit's GF's shield and is reduced to 10,000. 10,000 dmg hits GF's DR and is reduced to 2,000. Total of 2,000 being removed from GF's HP.
