Time to Rejuvinate the Thieves Den

It's been a bit sad watching the detoriation of the once awesome Thieves Den forum. Let's change that. When this game started just being a TR meant you wrecked anything. A long series of nerfs ensued that contintued to whittle away at our in game abilities. It was this forum and the open build discussions and idea sharing that enabled TRs to overcome every nerf and maintain a spot of dominance in the game. It led to a comraderie and respect among fellow TRs. Yes, gone are Hyenas, Rustlord, kweassa, etc. but morenthar and demonmonger are still out there and I see a lot of TRs that do really well. It would be great if new life came into this forum. It currently seems dead compared to other classes. Perhaps it's due to the move towards guilds and being more secretive about builds. I say screw that. The best TRs are the best because they execute stratgegy and tactics well. So start posting and start responding. Here's a few topics to flesh out if any of you have some insights, tips, or experience testing. Don't discuss here, start a new post! And yes, you can probably find a few of these in other forums, but let's make is specific to TR builds.

- Twisted vs. Elemental Weapons
- New uses for forgotten powers rather than cookie cutter
- Best choices in Stronghold boons (ArP or Power, Def or HP)
- The "other daily" Whirlwind vs. Bloodbath vs. CB ... pros and cons.
- Augment or Companion pros/cons
- Best use of armor kits ... defense or offense?
- and my personal favorite ... can anyone make a WK viable!

Hope to see some posts and life return.

In PVE I'm using Lurker's and Whirlwind. I only use Whirlwind during trash-clearing when the mobs are bunched up, like during cleric phase in Tia. The power bonus can get big when you hit a ton of mobs.

    Nothing is secret about tr.
Basically you can play and learn how to master it or read some post about them and claim to be a tr master.

I went with banelores stealth tr basic setup and modified it a little to create my own spin off of perms stealth.

All feats I use are to rebuild stamina and stealth.

    Master infiltrator / sab

Daily attacKS for pve basic monsters
    Lurkers/bloodbath

Daily attacks pve boss scorpions in elol
    Courage breaker/bloodbath

    Encounters pve basic monsters
Dazing strike shadow strike smome bomb

    Encounters bosses
Impossible to catch, shadow strike, smoke bomb or bait and switch.

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

Nice to see you on demonmonger! My point wasn't that there's a secret, but it is true that builds that are not cookie cutter have been guarded much more closely than they used to be. I know, I've been here since just after beta and I've seen for myself the comraderie and interaction that existed in this forum in the first few mods of the game. It was a great place to learn and there were some players really interested in helping and teaching. That is not true at this time. I'd like to see it like it used to be again. The fact is, with all of the boons, paths, feats, accessories, etc. available, the game is more complex and so is the variance that can work in builds. Just ask AtWil ... a lot of TRs laughed at his build as it was all "wrong" ... I've seen first hand how a non cookie cutter build can be devestating. (Atwil, get your butt back on here!)

Thank you for putting your basic build out here! I hope it furthers more discussion. I've used similar load outs in the past as well. I've found since, that using Blade Flurry in places like CN in conjunction with Lurkers and Tenacious Concealment works really well. Also, I've been leaning towards Whirlwind rather than Bloodbath as the damage is high, and the power boost from multiple targets is great. I no longer use ShadowStrike or B&S as I think the TR build has evolved far enough in tankiness (particularly with Stronghold boons), that I don't need stealth as a defensive mechanism. I am a WK and I don't use any defensive encounters even in PVP which allows for more offense. I recently ended my loooonnnnggggg stint as a Sab and went Executioner hoping for more DPS but not noticing a great deal of difference.

Finally landed a Ring of Brutality +4 today, so will see if that helps!
