Pretty new, GWF or GF solo ability

First off hey, I understand that these two classes can have very different roles and while I have been digging around for information, haven't found a great deal, so If anyone can point me in the right direction for info on these two classes, much appreciated.
In any case I wanted to play a melee, in your face class and ruled it down to these two, however I just wondered on there solo capability Im pretty sure GWF is fine in that department however GF being tank spec I get the feeling it may be... lacking and from what I understand there are daily's towards endgame that I should be doing and as this will be my first toon I want to make sure I can do all the solo content effectively.
If it isn't lacking I'll go GF, if not GWF it is unless anyone has any other suggestions I may have overlooked, thanks.
