IMO the in-game coupons are an excellent idea, but could still use a little work to be more effective.
I can't speak for everyone, but in my case I find some of the coupons to be enticing, but just not quite enough to push me to the point of purchase.
Suggestion: Implement the standard White, Green, Blue, Purple (rarity) system into the coupon system.
Examples:
The existing White 20% Off coupon IS enticing for items I already wanted.
A Green 25% Off Coupon would likely push me to buy something I really wanted anyway.
A Blue 30% Off Coupon would surely push me to the point of sale for my favorite store items.
A Purple 35% Off Coupon would entice me to buy things I had not previously considered.
Just an idea. Opinions?

item costs 1000 zen.
purple reduces it to 650 zen.
people sell it for ad worth 750 zen at the auctions.
noone in his right mind will buy it for 1000 anymore.
even wondered why p.wards are bellow the zax price in AH (before the -50% sale).

Pure -> Transcendent Plague Fire weapon enchantment giving 80damge/20 seconds for 500k+ AD is a joke.

The Zen prices should be permanently a lot lower anyway, so I don't see lots of sales as a problem.
The trade market is already over-flooded with AD. When the zen/ad conversion rate is practically stuck to 500(max), then there's a problem. Anything they do to boost Zen sales is a good thing for the "entire" economy, not just the AD hogs.

Just have a sale or drop the prices.
Having sales coupons in-game is a bit fantasy-killing.
