Is holy avenger any good in pvp? I use dread and I like it. I'm also a righteous build.

Holy Avenger: Holy Avenger is a trap. Decent damage boost (estimate at around 7-8% outgoing DPS), not that you care about DPS, when it procs it provides a minor defensive buff (Damage reduction buff is great) to the team (I don’t think it applies to self, but up time is average (10s per 60s). Buff is multiplicative of current DR and NOT additive. Because Coal wards cost so much it's a waste to make these. Here's why: if your target have 40% damage reduction a Perfect Avenger gives +15% multiplicatively. 40*.15 = 6% increase for 10 seconds over 60s. This means on average you have 1% increased DR for on a perfect enchant. Even less for your squishier HR/CW/TR friends. Just useless.

The total damage between dread and vorpal is minimal. But the dread would give you an advantage in burst damage via encounters which is a bit more important in a pvp scenario. Although I imagine the feytouched is still the BIS option in pvp, haven't seen a lot of discussion around it though. The smart play would be to inspect a DC from a pvp guild when you see one you like. They usually keep their information internal and don't post them to the public forums.

If you aiming for max heal or kills your should go for dread although tenacity reduce your crit damage but 75% more heal when crit is big. Your loadout should be like Bts, BoH, AS to make dread useful for your team. However, if you build to be more tanky, feytouched is a better option. DC is one of the two classes that can maximise dread potential in pvp, cuz heal is not reduced by any other things else from healing depression. I was in faithful for a few days to play with my dread, the heal is damm huge tbh, but then since my current focus is on pve, i get myself another frost and using it atm.

I'm working on a tanky deflect build. My il is 3k and I've been experimenting with the dc for a couple months now. I tried the faithful path before but was taking a while to get a kill. I switched to righteous after that and have used ever since. Oh, btw I'm an xbox user, but came here for info cuz pc players seem more knowledgeable. And right now we're under maintenance for the lostmauth nerf and character changes. I currently use lostmauth but not sure how much it's going to affect me. Thanks for the input everone!
