How important is Tenacity?

How much more important is tenacity compared to item level when running PVP? Is an item level 3500 with 1000 tenacity better or worse then 3000 item level with 2500 tenacity? Is tenacity more important then item level? I have been having a hard time understanding the difference between the two. Every discussion in here only talks about item level but not tenacity. I would like to know what is more important so I can concentrate on the proper thing while grinding it out :)

    Get guild gear to start off (the blue stuff), then work into burning executioner or lionsmane if your guild is at that point. There are very few classes that would make effective stat gains using masterwork gear, TR and HR being the only 2. Otherwise join a guild and gear up.

    Do you have a link that shows the prices of the blue guild gear you're talking about? My guild doesn't have the marketplace yet, I'd like to see what I'll need for it. I grinded out dom on my main with blue tenacity gear off the auction house to get the burning, and that was painful experience I would rather not repeat if I can avoid it.

    You're other option is to save money and buy the Umbral gear which is like 2.5m a piece...

    The gear has no tenacity set bonus and if you are going to buy it you may as well farm siege and buy keys to open those boxes to get the lionsmain gear faster

    ideally you would want 3 lionsmane parts of gear for the set bonus and something else

    You can get your gear from my guild if you want for free. Just ask any officer in paragon and let them know you just need to get your gear or wards
