No! We have built farm, lumberyard, mine, quarry and warehouses for the Guild Hall requirements. The others are optional. I was curious if animal pen/masonry guild etc worth it.

At SH level 4 we have all producer structures now (metal,stone,food,wood) at level 1.
To go to next level we need rank 2 prerequisites (hall counts as one and there is market at 2), so it seems we have choice.
What producer structures we absolutely must to upgrade? Their later versions have different requirements for Tyranny currency which i hate most, so i prefer to avoid these.

We have kept the mine at rank2 and leveled all the rest in future upgrades, in this case we used the warehouse as a replacement building, if you have pvpers and a good source of conqueror shards / glory, a pvp support structure can work too, because warehouses are expensive in terms of heroic shards (now it became an issue at rank 6 buildings). But it's was probably one step after you describing, need to get stuff to rank 2.
You don't require the support structures as buildings to count towards x number at rank x in order to upgrade the Guild Hall. Between the 6 Production plots (I'd recommend 2 Farms, 1 Quarry, Mine, Lumberyard, and Warehouse), The Boon Plots, Marketplace, and the Guild Hall - you will have enough structures ranked as high as possible to meet those requirements at every level.
However - as speaking as someone who has 2 GHs currently upgrading to rank 19 - get the support structures that increase Metal and Stone - getting these ranked up to 3 or 4 is going to help you a lot.
People I know hate Stronghold concept and the Module, better to just stop going to PVP Stronghold fights altogether.... just play some Domination if you really into PVP, its faster and more fun to coordinate than having 25 people on 1 map with 50 altogether!!

But it's was probably one step after you describing, need to get stuff to rank 2.
