Kill Orcus everytime even if your party wipes if you are a ranged class.

This applies only to ranged attack classes, CW, Warlock, or Hunter.

You will need a striker companion.
Stones of health are helpful too.

So it's pretty simple at the start of the fight ranged attackers need to position themselves to the left or right of Orcus as far back as they can go without getting trapped behind the green wall.

Your striker will essentially tank Orcus the entire fight.

There are only two things to worry about, Orcus breath, and the green balls of death that will need to be dodged if they appear.

Otherwise you can ranged attack Orcus until he's dead.

When he breathes have your stone of health on the ready to hit so recover your health quickly.

A lesser soulforge is also helpful just in case.

I have been able to solo Orcus even with a pug team that wipes at the start 100% of the time using this method.

I rather just wipe instead of making my team wait a long time for me to kill a boss when we can try again and kill it quicker.

    @sax1993

You did not read what I wrote at the end?

If you solo q and get a pug team that cannot finish Orcus I am not gonna keep wiping for their sake, or wait for spots to fill up, I am finishing the dungeon. Everyone wins.

It doesn't take that long when you're 4k and rocking a decked out psdudodragon.

Actually if you are an experienced HR you can do this in a PUG http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/wdj40/video/17654829 I had to switch to my survival rotations due to a couple of wipes through the dungeon.

But you have to time your attacks, know your class well and use your dodges at the right time. 1 mistake though and its game over lol. The 2 Pally's in the PUG died with 25% HP left on the boss so had to be uber careful after that :)

So you focus on survivability with your HR? Not so much DPS? That fine, but it probably would have died quicker (or not, who knows) if you had used DPS attacks instead of defensive/surviving ones right? The main one I noticed is Fox, it is great for the team and surviving, but not the best DPS.

lol... if I had used my DPS rotations I would have died for sure and I would not have been able to keep the other players alive and healed throughout. I switched to my survivability mode as I mentioned due to a couple of wipes early on in the dungeon. This particular PUG I joined when they were at the Eyeball boss, not sure what happened before that, I think whoever was supposed to be the DPS left before I joined.

If you want to see me DPS just look at some of my other videos on there, my usual line up is Longstriders/Constricting/Hindering.

DPS just does not always work, 99.9% of my runs are PUG's as I enjoy the variety. Whether I am in DPS or survivability mode depends on how the run is going.
