The Underdark Accord


ABOUT THE GUILD: The Underdark Accord is a Heavy-RP guild built from the ground up to give players a unified, immersive, and lore-based framework with which to create roleplay throughout the Forgotten Realms. Due to the Accord's unique structure, the guild is designed to provide opportunities for a wide variety of character types and RP styles; including military actions against the enemies of the Accord, political scheming between various noble houses and dwarven clans, expeditions to explore and restore the vast realms of the Northdark, and many more besides. We frequently make use of not only our beloved Stronghold and the Foundry system, but also Dungeons, Skirmishes, and Adventure Zones in order to provide the best experience possible for our members. The majority of the Accord's RP has traditionally consisted of casual tavern-setting RP throughout the Sword Coast’s many fine drinking establishments, campaigns against sinister enemies lurking in the shadows, and DM’ed events against slave caravans and drow raiders all with the aid of classic dice-roll systems.


ABOUT THE LORE:
The Underdark Accord is a recently created agency within the vast bureaucratic network that makes up the famed Lords' Alliance. The Accord serves as an autonomous body within its parent organization, and is governed by its own council and served by its own military force. Although the Underdark Accord remains part of the Lords' Alliance, they are seldom troubled by their supposed overseers on the surface. The twisting caverns and endless cave systems that lie beneath the earth are ever embroiled in centuries-old disputes that the Council of Lords has neither the sufficient time nor desire to directly influence, and they are quite happy to leave it to those foolish enough to try on their behalf.

The stated purpose of the Underdark Accord is to unite the various disparate realms that lay claim to the vast Northdark Domain under one banner, if not one ruler. The Accord was originally conceived of by the venerable Arbrek Ironstar, a relatively new and moderately powerful member of the Lords' Alliance, who (after gaining approval from the Council of Lords and his fellow Dwarves) proposed the idea of allying his Clan and Duchy with the House of Myrae (a collection of drow who rejected the depraved ways of their people) to their Matron; the wizard known as Drae'syndora Myrae. After much debating, drinking, idle threats, the dark elven noble agreed and the Accord's predecessor, the Underdark Alliance, was formed.

Although the Alliance thrived for many months, numerous schisms and constant arguments between the stubbornly bellicose Lord Ironstar and the frequently haughty and aloof Lady Myrae caused the drow of House Myrae to withdraw from the Alliance to the wilds of the Crags. With the overnight loss of almost half their number, the Alliance grew soon grew dangerously weak and almost crumbled away into obscurity. Thankfully the ever-paranoid Chancellor Ironstar had been prepared for such an event, and with the aid and counsel of Vexana Velduin, a wise and powerful elven warlock, was able to salvage the remnants of the Alliance and reforge it into the Underdark Accord of today.

The Accord is made up primarily of humans from the surface former Duchy of Grimmantle, the dwarves from the revered Clan Ironstar, and the numerous elves, half-elves, halflings, and other races who have rallied under the Accord's cause and banner. Additionally, the Accord has revived the ancient heraldic order of the Iron Guard to act as its military forces, although all factions within the Accord are permitted to maintain their own personal guard forces as well. Operating out of Irongate Keep in the northern foothills of the Crag Mountains, the Accord has a broad sphere of influence throughout the Crags and the portions of the Northdark beneath it; hoping one day to expand to shield and unite all of the Northdark.

A WORTHY SOUL: Underdark Accord is ever vigilant for those who would embody the virtues of honor, duty and piety. All members of the Accord, from the humble Associate to the Chancellor himself, are loyal souls and stalwart paragons of order - each and every man and woman willing to risk their very lives in defense of the Northdark and those who depend upon it. A member of the Alliance must uphold and enforce common law, but also must never forget their sense of honor or respect for tradition. Whether it be against forces beyond the Sword Coast's borders, criminals and cultists within, or the abominations of the Nine Hells, the Underdark Accord stands strong to defend all that they hold dear.


CHARACTER GUIDELINES:
The type of character who will do well in the Accord is one who, at least outwardly, is committed to the guild's mission, humble enough to follow orders when necessary, and ready to do their duty both at home and abroad. Being cool under pressure is also a must. There are no class or level restrictions, though martial weapons are preferred when under threat and some zones will require certain levels in order for RP comfortably within them. For a number of reasons the Accord shall not knowingly admit any sort of vampire, lycanthrope, or other such abomination into its ranks.


THE RIGHT PLAYER:
The guild is looking for players mature enough to respect the established in-character chain of command, not only in the Accord but within Dwarven and drow cultures (the dominant races within the Northdark). The perfect fit for the Accord will be a dedicated role-player who doesn't always need to be the center of attention and enjoys being a part of something larger than themselves. We accept players with any level of lore-knowledge and role-play experience, and we are willing to teach both as best we can, rather than shun those who might be lacking in one area or the other. That being said, we are here to play within the Forgotten Realms, so too much willful bending of the lore will not be tolerated.

CODES OF CONDUCT


GUILD POLICIES:
You are encouraged to create your own roleplay events, seek roleplay within the guild, as well as additional roleplay inside of the usual roleplay locations. (Driftwood Tavern, Moonstone Mask, etc)
The guild calendar lists our events, it also features on the message of the day. If creating an event, please be certain to get it posted on our guild calendar by clearing it with an officer.
Events are also viewable via in game on our guild roster, at the event's tab. Please RSVP if you are able to attend.
The Enjin site features detailed information about events, character biographies, and other miscellaneous threads. Please check this as often as possible.
Do not speak negatively of other guilds or players within our public chat channels as well as Teamspeak. If this is seen, a warning will be issued.
Please respect other's private roleplay, and keep all erotic roleplay within tells and group chat. If you are having private RP, please keep this in the group so that others know that you are engaging in private activities.
Please be respectful towards others OOC, and try to keep OOC in community roleplay hubs to a bare minimum. If you wish to converse with a roleplayer OOC, do so in whispers.
The majority of roleplay in the server occurs at the Mask, and if you don't want to RP there, you are always more than welcome to alert others that you are seeking roleplay at other locations and invite the guild along with you.
Please try to keep an eye on guild chat, we often alert events before they start, and have discussions. If your chat is flooded, then it is highly suggested that you keep the Accord's chat in a separate tab, so you can stay up to date. It is our main form of communication besides Teamspeak.
If any policies are revised, or added. The Accord will be informed, and updated on the changes.

    I am impressed and intrigued. I've been watching your guild members roleplay (albeit from the fringe of the Moonstone Mask tavern via one particular 'goat milk sipping old man paladin'). It's an impressive group. Eventually, once I shake off my 'noobness' for the game mechanics, I hope to apply to your dedicated RP guild. Until then, keep up the good work.
