Does the longstrider buff proc even when you don't see it on the screen?

Rayrdan posted this comment in another thread:

" "great buffs" i think you are referring to longstrider.. well that buff only lasts 4 seconds and the proc is not really that reliable.
we agree that trapper is the most complete tree but i would like to actually do damages with my encounters/at wills and not random procs of feats...whose damage in terms of dps btw is limited by weapon damage progression mod by mods and the intrinsic mechanic of the feat itself ( 1 tick/sec)."

and it got me to think about the 'not reliable' .

I play an HR archer and like to use Longstrider during Dragon Heralds and Tiamat, especially before and after a phase so everyone can get the benefit of the fast move. I have noticed somewhat frequently that when I pick a target that appears to be in the right range, I don't get the screen confirmation of the Longstrider proc. Did I miss the target/range? Did it not proc for some other reason, or did the screen just not confirm the hit?

Sorry that I didn't post the link to his original comment. Hopefully you can get the idea anyway.

Yes sometimes if you are in extremities, too close or too far to the min/max range, it doesnt proc if you use other encounters immediately. It is just like on other classes, where using encounters(or rather pressing on encounter buttons or other buttons too fast) immediately cancels the initial encounter.

To avoid this, just wait for the buff confirmation before using another encounter or at wills.

The longstrider buff is the red arrowish thingy.

Do note that you can make that buff stack alone, but only for a second. you can buff party with 2 stacks for one second(if trapper, not sure about archery).

I play on the Xbox and I have also seen this, I have fired and hit the enemy who is definitely not too close to me and the buff does not proc.

I just listen for the sound it makes when it procs now, once I hear the sound my movement always increases and I figure it has worked. I have no idea though if it does proc even though you do not see it on the screen, I`m pretty sure though if you don't see the words appear then it has not procced.

I love the Power and use it all the time, have to agree with rayrdan though as it is unreliable.
