Shield/Lighting symbol help...

New protection paly here. During guild dragons (I usually take blue, lighting) I usually get a shield symbol above my bubble and a lighting symbol. I'll get the shield but I won't get the lighting without the shield. I've noticed that when I have the lighting above my bubble I'll keep getting hit by lighting till I'm dead. Usually I'll insta die once my binding oath ends. Any insight on this? Ty

That shield over your head means that the Dragon has bitten off a big chunk of your Armor. The shield will add cracks to it each time the dragon munches on you. With 4 cracks on that shield means....you are totally naked and will instantly die if ya trip over a dandelion.

The lightning is the debuff, it's a damage of time. When you die with the debuff, the entire arena takes a burst of lightning damage, usually resulting in a full group wipe there (there are a few classes and ways of avoid thing, usually with perfect timing).

The idea is that the tank takes the debuff, and between them and the Healers, they need to stay alive.
