    It's mostly a token gesture given that Orcus is BiS for a lot of classes anyways.

    Have players solidly worked out what the new BiS is for each standard build for each class? I'm not seeing any threads about it in the GWF forum, for example, but maybe I'm a bad looker or they've put all of this info on the preview forums...

    Ive not looked myself but the gesture alone is solid. LM may very well remain the best but at least we will have an option to swap it out for something else after the change.

    I think this is an excellent move and a gigantic shout out to the playerbase!

    So is that why the LM set finally got nerfed - its to get more people to grind the new set. Well played Cryptic. The exchange is a solid though.

    Orcus set will not be bis... the dynamics of how the bonus is derived will make the set pretty lame unless you have some heave hitting encounters.

    I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

    Do you have any specifics on the mechanis? As it stands right now, it only needs to provide more than a 2% damage increase to be better than Lostmauth.

    This is the issue ... good, great company allows you to exchange, yet everyone is over exuberant , considering that lost-mouth is = to or still better then any other of these sets still.

    Why does anyone even care?

    THIS is not bad mouthing the company.. i dont care they are offering it or not, Im just super perplexed at the player base happiness over this.. there still is NO real alternative to lostmouth.. unless you are building around orcus instead.

    Nerfing of lostmouth hasnt made any of the other sets better.. not a one.

    So what? People like choices. Who is deciding what set is better than what? Why be negative about something positive? I dont get why people are always sour when Cryptic tries to do something nice.

    no.. again, you totally misread , the conversation has nothing to do with the company, allowing this or not.

    This is to engage a playerbase in what I see is a pointless en devour, there simply is no better set.

    I see this mad rush at people clamoring about exchange, but upon review, you really should be careful about it. There simply is no better set for most classes still, sure its no longer 30% of the dps on some classes, but it will be generally better for almost all dps builds still.

    That is the sad truth of all the other sets, they just do not offer anything valid or concrete enough.

    Please leave the company side out of the discussion, who cares.

    If someone wants to start posting act logs to convince me that black ice is now superior.. please do so, I say you cannot.

    There simply is no reason to exchange the set.

    At most, you may find CWs get a small % with a different item in a slot and not even using the set.. marginal.

    When all sets are terrible, losty still wins.

    Bro, the company side of things is the topic directly. And I care. I care that Cryptic understands what this move does and that it should have been done over a year ago before everyone farmed and refined it.

    This vendor idea is their acknowledgement and I applaud them.

    Ive ripped into them for shoddy work in the past. Im giving them credit for a making a positive move.

    Is it a great move? Maybe. Is it perfect? Certainly not. Is it positive? Yes, I do believe it is.

    There are a number of people who feel that the BiS LM set has been stolen from them (not true since LM set is still BiS for most people). This move tells them to quit whining and pick the set that they think would now be BiS for them if they still feel LM is no longer BiS for them.

    I can't see many people taking advantage of this exchange. Probably some CW/SW will exchange for the Black Ice Beholder set, or some tank/healer type wanting to change from a DPS build to a tank/heal build.

    Warlocks will not continue to use a str/dex set, even if it gives 2k damage per crit. (and that doesn't even work on DoTs anymore) Wizards might not keep it either. Support classes never needed that set in the first place, Lathander or Seldarine is better for most healers and some tanks.
    So it's Rangers, GWFs and Rogues (and GF dps builds) that will continue to use Lostmauth.
    This exchange is great for anyone who doesn't need the str/dex bonus but wants some kind of item set. Black Ice is not choosen for the poor set bonus, but the stats on the items. Finally. The worst thing about the game before mod 6 was how item sets basically were the thing that made your character work. (And these old set bonuses are STILL HAMSTER up the game balance) Now with Lostmauth gone we can finally play on without just looking for the best set bonus.

    People complained that they threw tons of money and rp into lost math sets. (Some of) Those same people said they would have picked another set if they knew it would be nerfed. The same lot of players should be thankful now that they can swap for any other previous existing set they would have chosen over lostmauth.
