I was having the same problems for over the past 2 weeks. I popped into the forums to see if there was others having a similar issue, as my friends I play with were not having CTD problems. I was trying everything I could think of on my side of things and was getting rather annoyed that I could not find a solution. Then, apparently, after the 6th CTD during boss fight of the day, I went and started to keep track of my graphics card's temp on full graphics and on low-as-it-can-go graphics. Noticed my card was the cause of the issue for me. It hit its limit for temp, and killed the program, crashing me out to desktop. Might be a similar issue for others, maybe not. I also set the video memory limit under the Advanced tab to the maximum for the card I have currently, and it increased the stability of the game. I have to play on dumbed down graphics for the time being though. But, at least I can play without the CTD issue slapping me every 5 minutes now.

    Hi @kalimoucho44

I have the same problem, every time I engage fight, the game crash.

I tried with severals computers, and got the same problem.

No problems with the english :) , but are you actually getting a crash in the game, as in, you get an error message and a Cryptic crash report, or (more likely, I suspect) a timeout or server not responding? They are completely different things - a crash is an actual application failure due to hardware or software, the latter is related to Internet and networking.

You have to be very precise about what is happening because the resolution/solutions are completely different. I have network problems all the time with the game, but I will only actually crash with an error message maybe once every couple of weeks or so...

Might is not always right - the powerful sometimes forget that.

try to disable the sound drivers from device manage and try to play the game like that...

did u set up the XMP profile in the bios for ur RAMs ?
have u tried windows 7 instead of windows 10 ?
already tried to disable all sound drivers.
    my xmp profile is off.

    already reformatted 5x. 2x windows 7, 2x windows 8.1 and windows 10.
    and still the game crashes.

I have to say that I'm absolutely outraged at this constant crashing and Neverwinter is the only game that's doing it.
    "Display driver" HAMSTER.
Mind you, I play other MMOs without this headache.
FYI, this seems to be related to Windows 10.

Everything said here is accurate. Without being told the answer to this there is no way to resolve anything.

    1. Windows versions should mean nothing. As I just posted in another thread, though, if you believe your OS is causing an issue more than likely it is a driver related issue because logically if Windows caused the problem then everybody using windows would experience the problem.

    2. The ability to play other games really doesn't mean much. What does is your specs. My completely accurate hypothesis to your issue based on the supplied information is that you might have a pink elephant riding a unicycle causing havoc in your computer case. Why is that accurate? Because I don't know what is in your computer case other than a storage media device with a Windows 10 OS on it. In other words there is absolutely no way for anybody to form any conclusion or give you troubleshooting steps to actually fix the problem. :p

as you can see, i am still crashing in windows 7, windows 8 and windows 10.
i have no problems in high end games. like GTA V (almost ultra settings) then Blade and Soul (max settings) with no problem at all. i only got this problem when mod 9 comes up. from mod1-8 i got no problems at all. so im beggining to lose patience on this game. i actually send a ticket. and the Pwe said "this is a known issue with NW and STO, for now you just need to be patient" goodluck to me. its been 2 weeks now since their last reply.

Hi Carloqt, are you using any special keyboard/mouse/audio devices (like wireless headset)? There was another thread that found the wireless headset was causing a crash during fight scenes. You get crashes within a set period of time, so I am thinking if you could try 'dumb' peripherals (plus remove any drivers with the fancy equipment), that may work for you...

yep i seen that thread already. i have Corsair strafe. and a msi gaming mouse. i already tried a standard a4tech keyboard/mouse and still crashed. wireless headset? nope. im using a 2:1 speakers. i tried removing them. still crashing. so its probably not on my peripherals problem. i think my motherboard is the culprit. but PWE replied to my email that there are still no news about my problem. they just hope on the upcoming patches/maintenace would fix my problem. well its been 3 months now haha

so i think this might help you , get urself a copy of the windows 7 on the internet , to install the w7 professional , make sure its the x64 and not the x84 , be sure also you have the drivers for your motherboard : LAN and REALTEK straight from the motherboard site especially for your w7 - 64 bits , install the graphic card driver and then you can download neverwinter and see how it's working.

so my rig was a : processor fx 6300 , mb: asrock 970 pro3 , 2x4gb dual kit Savage ddr3 ram , nvidia gtx 660 , 1 TB WD black , PSU 500w with windows 10, and i used to have terrible FPS ingame, so recently i have changed the processor to a i5 and the mb to a gigabyte h97 and i installed windows 10 , which made my game even worse than the old rig , so i sweared that i would've quit the game if it wouldn't work what i 've suggested: so i got the .rar drivers from the motherboard site and saved them on a usb stick directly , and then i booted anoter stick with the w7 professional and made sure that i have choosen the x64 (which it's important) and now i have great FPS in the game, up to 100 FPS:smile:

thanks for replying lancer. did u bought 6th gen proc? skylake? anyway i will try that. hoping it will fix the issue. thanks again

no, its haswell ... to expensive for my budget and i needed the part as fast as possible :)

so the problem with windows 10 could've been either with the drivers or direct x , hope it will works for you too w7 pro x64 and download the drivers w7-64 bits and it should be MASTER WINDOWS , if u hv skylake dunno how it will work with that..
update still crashing. i even bought a new psu. and still it crashes hahaha. thanks for the effort:)

Are you using dual RAM, @carloqt ? I suspect so, could you try removing sticks so you only have a single one, and see what that does. Also, try re-arranging the sticks (move them into different slots), as that can also make a difference.

hmm i already tried that i think. but ill try it again. thanks

    @metalldjt
yeah. maybe this is a bug with skylake processors. (not all of them though) my friend also has the same processor that i got but he is not crashing.

Im not able to start a new thread in the forums and so I found this one. Im having problems with Neverwinter running. I cannot play Neverwinter as I used to. My system runs 2xmsi R9 390s with the latest updates. While playing the game for awhile I suddely get weird horizontal line distortions on my display and the game locks up and then everything goes black. I have to alt-del-esc my way out of it to close out the client. This has been going on for months even though AMD has released updates and the same with Neverwinter this still continues. Its really the only game that I have issues with out of "many". I tend to think its the Raptr client since I use it to gather points. idk. support is vague. dont know where to turn to. just waiting for updates.
