Returning player question

So I just return still lvl 60 and I had an old set of weapons and when I join pvp I was hitting from 80k-120k depending. I traded the weapon for some new ones of the merchant that raised my dps and stats it says but my damage is now 40 k top tear and 20k average. anyone know a reason why ? and I cant test it cause I refined the weapons and they are not in the trade house anymore.
