I was kicked out of a guild because I went on a business trip for 3 weeks and that was after I let them know I was going on the trip. I would like to find a guild where the guild leader isn't a gigantic HAMSTER bag and everyone is chill.

I might suggest taking a look at New Outriders. Everyone in the guild is friendly and the only requirements is being respectful to other people, members or not. I once stepped away unannounced just because I didn't enjoy neverwinter after mod 5 and came back 6 or so months later. Was welcomed back as if I had never left.
