Sentinel, those big guys still exist but are ...useless?

So i read some time ago something about the DR cap at 80% (excluding DP, AS blá blá blá), putting that the damage of sentinel is miserable apart (35% of destroyer the last time i respecced) is there any vantage in building a sentinel for survivability? A GWF with perfect(or higher) negation + countless scars + defence from self + unstoppable + every other thing will reach the 80% DR easly, except in low number of damage income hits, but even in elol negation mantains 3, 4 stacks. So, is the advantage of sentinel on the ditch of countless scars over living wall, that in cases like elol is more or less the same and still benefits party and in the filtering of deflection and use of briartwine? I tried T.briartwine sometime ago and i noticed a very high decrease in survivability even in sentinel tree (play made on mistral point), but my build was hybrid defence, ls, deflection.

So, am i missing anything why sentinel is not worth in survivability over destroyer or is there actually a way to play with the DR granted from the cap feat of sentinel?

    Intimidation is currently bugged, CAGI dealing DOT ridiculous damage that kills you in seconds (and obviously, is unintended). If there's an increase of people speccing hybrid of Senti, it's purely because of that, the path itself is still not viable.

    i dont remember that, but you mean CAGI + intimidation right? As i remember is daring shout and come and get it are buffed by everything when with intimidation feats, the only dot i would take from that would be owlbear, insignias and....feytouched bug...the same as commanding strike in gf's.

    there was a bug with come and get it + ap ward , that it would add 12 dots per hit.
    That's interesting would you say it closes the gap between sentinel and destroyer in pve for sentinel not to be a drag? Or is it fixed already?

    I ran a sentinel build, then destroyer with Lathander Set (still do for the Orcus fight and lastly Destroyer with LoL set. The reason Sentinel isn't viable is because you won't live long enough to get your determination to max and since Destroyer feats boost Restoring Strike too it makes the Sentinel Capstone look worthless.

    With Lathander set vs LoL set, (both purple) I'll probably survive maybe 2 seconds longer using lathander, the only time I use it now is if I think I might proc Lathander's Rebirth and clutch a win from an otherwise wipe.

    From a person who had run sentinal from day one up to elemental evil. Destro is the only viable path. Both instigator and sentinel need massive feat rewarks to bring them up to the same level as destroyer. I miss the days of being a viable offtank and being able to hold aggro. Now, as a sentinel, you couldnt pull agro on a mob going after a green healer companion.

    From a person who had run sentinal from day one up to elemental evil. Destro is the only viable path. Both instigator and sentinel need massive feat rewarks to bring them up to the same level as destroyer. I miss the days of being a viable offtank and being able to hold aggro. Now, as a sentinel, you couldnt pull agro on a mob going after a green healer companion.

    I don't think it will ever be achievable in end game content again tbh the game has changed too much mobs hit way too high and if a deflect build is possible that might be the way thru, but the protection/dps provided ratio will always be worse, about instigator, i dont find it bad, not at all, in pvp the stacks of instigator vengeance stack very, very fast and stay up most of the time in fight and dont require deal damage to stack them, there is the question of destroyer, but trample the fallen can be very effective (specially in a group since damage is increased by all control not just the player control).
