Question about professions and taking them to 25

I did a internet search and found various opinions on if professions were worth the effort. It seems like for the most part professions do not add much to a player and their ability to get the best gear they can get.

For fun I am getting most profs to rank 20 on my characters to open up prof slots.

Are they worth getting to 25?

Besides for fun of course.

I have read so far the Jewelcrafting (for the rings) and Leadership (various opinions) are worth getting to 25.

Various other professions add armor enhancements, e.g. 200 power/crit etc. Jewelcrafting also does enhancements for rings, belt and neck. With Leadership you can make refinement stones and Alchemy can make unified elements.

They all have something to offer. You can find more details here

Leadership is good because you can make refinement, and once your character do not use it anymore, you call sell them too so its always worth it. Sadly during the upping now it do not give anything... It used to be a good source of diamonds...

Jewelcrafting is good for making your personalized ring, altough those may be replaced by the legendary rings of Underdark, i heard the drop rate should get better in Mod9??

As for the rest, im sure it does have some utility but im not sure its worth the time of upping them. Thanksfully there much shorter to up than leadership, wich is a crazy long "grind"

Why would you stop at Lv20?

I suppose you could say Weaponsmithing really has no reason to go to Lv25 other than the Legendary title. In fact it could be easily argued that every other profession has something of value past Lv20 in the form of reinforcement kits or materials or whatever, but Weaponsmithing has nothing at all. It doesn't have anything notable from Lv1-Lv20 for that matter.

I think Artifacting is a dog past Lv20 as well, but all the others... why would you stop at Lv20!? lol

Once you reach Lvl 21 in a profession it'll become a lot easier to lvl due to the adamant profession tasks which you'll reach 25 a lot faster than you reached 20. :3 So yes do it I recommend you do Jewel Crafting and whatever professions gives you your BiS Shirt and Pants, as well as armor kits to your liking. Simple enough now get working~<3

Plus at 25 most of the professions can create something of potential value to others, so you might be able to make a few diamonds with your crafting. Check out the wiki -> professions to see what you can make.

In the next mod there will be a level 23 task in all professions, except Black Ice, to create chests that can be donated to the guild coffer. The task uses nothing more that the refined version of gathered items. There will also be level 4, 10 and 17 in all professions except leadership and alchemy, they only get another level 17 task.

So, if you are in a guild, going to at least 23 makes sense.

Which profession lets you create armor reinforcement kits?

Which profession lets you create armor reinforcement kits?

Tailoring, Leatherworking, Platesmithing, and Mailsmithing. Each one of those has tasks that can create an armor kit for a specific stat (for example, tailoring has lifesteal and arpen). EVERYONE should have lesser kits of one sort or another on all four pieces of their armor (they cost 100 AD each to make from level 7 profession tasks and provide +25 of whatever stat each). It's a dirt cheap +100 stat points in aggregate.

The bigger kits may or may not be worth it, depending on your build and wealth (regular kits are +50 stat points and cost 15k AD to make, greater are +100 stat points and cost 50k AD and an egg, and the epic ones give +200 stat points and cost 100k AD, an egg, and a unified elements).
