Just finished making a spreadsheet outlining the material costs associated with making the armaments for the Stronghold Weapons. Having just finished with most of the Masterwork quests needed to make all the weapons, and having guildies that are done with the rest I figured running the numbers would help me explain what I needed from guildies to make their weapons. After a LOT of number crunching I have come to a bit of a head scratcher. The cost equivalent if all raw materials were purchased from the AH shows an average cost of about 1.9 MILLION AD each weapon. The most expensive weapon (DC) came in at 2.5 MIL, and the least expensive (SW) came in at 850 K. A big part of this comes from what materials are returned on a failure. I really think these need a bit of a rework if there is that big of a difference. I even went ahead, and made estimates on how many guild marks you would need to just buy the maps and get the materials that way. That resulted in about 70K guild marks (almost reasonable) for the SW weapon, and 170K guild marks for the DC weapon. Obviously, some resources are going to be more expensive than others, but this goes to show that the item distribution is not even, since supply and demand drive the cost of items on the AH. All estimates for material cost was based on having a 75% success rate, which is the best you can get.
