    Wow, this post spans all the nerf rages. There are no defined roles anymore, it is best to quit trying to dictate what abilities and roles other players should have and just play your own toon how you want.

    ...which is the entirely the reason why NW PvP is what it is currently. No roles mean no weaknesses. No limitations. No reason for teamplay or mutual support. No balance.

    Roles should be strictly defined once again, and no, you should not be able to play your toon how you want. Well rather, you'd be free to play your toon the way you want, but the results won't always be the way you want -- at least in the sense in regards to self sufficiency.
    Stop making excuses. Be a man.
    If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
    Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

    Control aspect of Wiz in PvP is almost Nill, zero, zippo, worthless, bugged, resisted, scoffed at, sneered at, an mostly just laughted at.

    Hence I rarely if ever PvP, have not pvp armor, jewelry, ignore pvp specs, and pve exclusively, though this may change.

    OR they tone down more the elven or give more control duration to opressor tree. THE last time an opressor used control vs my elven battle and he did 0,05 sec freeze and 0.05 shatered............. AND i dont even have deflect or noticable control resist on my wizard.

    Actually, if TEB is removed from the picture, like said, Oppressors are fine.

    Well, in reality, that and deflection... so maybe reduce the contribution of deflection severity to CC resistance by 66%, so a TR deflecting a CC gains +25% more CCres instead of the current +75%, and other classes with 50% severity gain +16.5% CCres...

    Those two changes take place, and from that point on it is only a matter of how serious you are willing to make CCs your main act, because "I want to be able to CC a lot better than others, and I want to use those CCs to reliably incapacitate others and take them down one by one" doesn't work, because being granted powerful CC capability to chain it and incapacitate/debilitate the enemy continuously, and also being able to deal adequate damage to the target while you are at it, is clearly balance breaking.

    That's how the CW is set up currently, and that's why it doesn't need any more CCs. The only thing the CW needs, in terms of CC-oriented combat, is a nerf to TEB and general nerf to deflection severity.

    I'm playing a kind of hybrid control/dps CW in pvp. Using valindra's set + Dragon's grip boon (+10%). I dont have the cantankerous mage and will o wisp yet for siege or IWD, but Im already controlling people quite well. I have 2.8K IL, so i just cant focus thoroughly on dps. I use IK and OF as dailies. Storm Pillar and MM as at will. Tabbed shield, Entangling Force, Repel and Disintegrate (my main dps skill). I use Elven Battle Enchant, and Vorpal. I'm currently trying to get my LS stat to 25% (10.8% ATM). Also Abyss of Chaos is vastly and wrongly overlooked. 60% of your weapon damage just about everytime an ally strike a foe you just hit. That feat does 13% of my overall damage. The item Lev l does quite a change, but im not able to count on both of my hands how many times ive killed a 3K+IL GF, GWF or OP, because the main concern in pvp is Tenacity, followed by Playing your Class Well, and closely behind comes Overall IL. How many times did i hold mid on my own versus a GF a DC and a TR all of whom had around my tenacity and IL, while my teammates were 2 on 1 at each of the two others nodes? Too many. I'm not awesome, I do well just because i play as my class should be played.

    P.s. if a CW is in siege or Open world with Cantankerous Mage and will o wisp as active. Using Valindra's Set and Dragon's grip. His untabbed Entangling Force will hold a player with max tenacity (69%) for 7.623 seconds. Remember: CWs bypass 66% of Tenacity Based Control Resist. Not taking advantage of that would be a shame. But dont overdo it, controling is good, but you need to be able to kill also.

    What kind of crappy GWF sees the long HAMSTER entangle animation starting and doesn't press shift?

    This is PVP section.
    No interest to read about someone, who specced for control and tells people how great it works in PVE and how many player told him how good he performs, sry that´s real BS.
    Too many player in PVE sections write about their epeen atm and sell broken feats and 10x stacking companionboni for skill.
    I read some of Mr. Brains comments too and in the sum they are offtopic , not constructive and from no interest, spread arround in the PVP forum at every thread, obviously written only to "disagree" like etelgrin already wrote....
    go to foundry section in case PVE section send you to hell :)

    You obviously are confused. PVE is not balanced at all.
    My 2,5 k GWF outdamages every class at 3k plus apart from damnationlocks in some dungeons.
    My GF runs though levelzone 4 times faster than my warlock, it should be the other way.
    Leveling a tank allways was a pain, and should be a pain. But since cryptic is weak and has no clue, they build a class and say: "Okay every class should fullfill most roles in one" so everyone will be happy and we can rest in peace :)
    So they build a tanking class to be a supporter, a damagedealer and a tank....that´s not gonna work in case you have no clue how to balance these trees.

    Good point. I had added "by soloing" to fix the idea. In fact, it should not be just for tank. Leveling any class, by soloing, should be more difficult so that it could encourage cooperation and teamwork. Of course, cooperation and teamwork aren't just something like inviting more players to do a daily lair to make killing mobs faster. It needs to truly let each class brings its iconic feature into full play. Making every class fulfill most roles in one makes no sense and harms class diversity.
