Patch issues / no game

I haven't played Neverwinter for several months. Every startup begins a 7 gig patch that runs for 15 mins and goes to BSOD. I just tried to download a new version of the game and it is only in German! I'm running an i5 2400 w/8gig, 1T HD, and a nice new GT610 from EVGA. All my other games work fine, what is it about Neverwinter?

Wow, sorry to hear that! I have NW installed on its own HD. Do you have another one you can dig out and try that on?
If I were you, here's how I would do it.

    1. Find an extra HD and give it a whirl! *fingers crossed*

    2. Download Arc if you don't have it already. arcgames.com/en/about/client Once it's downloaded, in the upper left hand corner of the UI there's a drop down box, click Support > Neverwinter PC > Support Center > Submit a Ticket. Tell them what's happening, make sure to include all of your PC info again, including: Make, Model, Size (Watts) and w/e else. I get replies in less than 24 hours, consistently. For nearly a year my average wait time is under 12 hours, a specialist will reply. Always remember that you attract more bees with honey that you do vinegar and it'll get you ample returns. ;)

    3. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Startup & Recovery Settings button > System Failure and remove the checkmark from 'Automatically restart'. This will stop Windows from automatically restarting your pc allowing you to be able to see, write down and Google the invaluable error code(s) Windows is giving you.

They will ask you to take a number of steps and produce for them some data files. I'm pretty sure I know what they will ask for, so just in case you want the info I'll go ahead and post that too. Maybe you are eager and want to try everything you can to get it sorted.

    4. "If you go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Neverwinter_en\Neverwinter\Live\logs\GameClient directory there will be a Clientservercomm.log file. You can send me a copy of this file. Also, can you try pinging the server directly ((****I have completely forgotten the cmd line that you need to use and I'll be damned I haven't been able to find it on Google****)) then launching the game and see what is happening? Open the command prompt again, but this time type in "ping patchserver.crypticstudios.com -t" and hit enter. The '-t' is important, as it will keep the ping going until manually stopped, instead of just 4 pings. As this runs, launch the game and play as normal until you get the connection issue, then go back to this command window and hit Ctrl+C to stop the ping. It should then display the results, including any spikes in packet loss. Please copy this and send it to me."

    Goodluck! Keep us posted :D

"beckylunatic" Gateway AH should have column headers to sort by buyout, bid, end time, quantity, etc. These disappeared iirc with the module launch. It's obnoxious.
