Communication and Xbox 1 in Neverwinter

How do you folks communicate on Xbox 1? I don't have a MIC and won't be getting one, so I have avoided grouping for that reason. Communication is much to difficult without a keyboard or a MIC.

Should I continue my self isolation, or is it understood that some folks don't communicate with Xbox 1?

Appreciate thoughts and input.

Buy a USB keyboard, use that to type with.

You should be okay in most groups, but even short notes can help

I use a mic as its a requirement of the guild I am in, also it makes running dungeons, instances far easier and faster.

Played with ppl that sat in the party chat to listen but never spoke and reponded to our chat via ingame chat.

I am neither here nor there, for I am NevrCene

I use a keyboard and a mic. The keyboard I have for general use and mic for party, either when running with people I know or for general conversation with friends.

You can enter an Xbox party chat and respond via typing when running dungeons.

It helps a great deal with coordination. You need to be in a group to effectively do anything other than pugging (and you need to get past pugging to properly make AD etc) so I'd suggest that latter method for overcoming the obstacle.

My mic has been broken for a couple of months now and I`m not getting another till the end of the month. I get on just fine, keep messages short in chat and I just use the pad. Sometimes I join a party or whatever so can hear people talk and I just reply in a short message in group chat.

If you have to type something lengthy just don't do it where enemies spawn :)

I do have a mic, but I personally rarely use it to talk in game, normally im Talking to my Friend @magicstache when i running with randoms or the guild. If you really need to type something well then type it between dungeons of skirmishes or of coarse pvp. For PvE they're shouldn't really be a case were you'll need to tell people anything, but brb. :3 Causally carry da random peeps through things so they can wait. lol

You can download the Xbox SmartGlass App onto a phone or tablet and use this to type. Just install it and connect it to your Xbone when playing. Once you go to type in chat the keyboard will automatically appear on the app and you can use this to type.

    Free and easy :)

Little known feature of NW for XBox - if you press-click the right stick while mounted (or even unmounted) you will start running forward with direction controllable through that right stick. While running that way you can activate/deactivate map, activate/deactivate chat and chat away with your friends and team mates.

@randomdigits - that also makes it a lot simpler to lave jump in Lostmauth!

@wdj40 - there have been several times when I've seen players pitch in together to get a microphone for a buddy they play with a lot - but, in your case, I think they'd pitch in to buy you a mute button :)
