It is wonderful that transmute costs have been reduced and I have finally changed the looks on a lot of my characters now that it's more affordable BUT I would like to bring up another sore point about transmuting.
This is not limited to artifact gear but does affect it the most for me. Certain items can only be obtained once in-game. I'll use the Cloak of the Emerald Enclave as an example, which you get during the Tyranny of Dragons campaign. It is a transmute ans I used it to change the look of my Lathander's Cloak. Now the problem arose when Cryptic introduced greater versions of the artifact cloak so I was left with 2 options: either gain back some of the RP I used to level up my Lathander Cloak by refining it into the Greater Lathander's Cloak; or use the transmuted Lathander's Cloak to change the look of the Greater Lathander's Cloak. I went with the former as I have many characters that require RP for their artifacts/gear.
So I lost the unique look of the Cloak of the Emerald Enclave. I suppose the problem could have been alleviated if the ToD cloaks were BoA but alas they aren't. What I would like to propose, as others have before me, is that something is added, whether it be from the Wondrous Bazaar, tradebar store or zen store, which can remove the transmute on gear to be re-used, so as to avoid losing unique looks forever ever.
The other option is for Cryptic to create a wardrobe of some kind that stores a look once you have acquired it, so it can be used again and again and again if need be.
For this reason I am loath to transmute any of my weapons or cloak as they are the hardest to replace looks-wise.
Thank you.
