I experienced this issue for the first time a little over a week ago. I tried everything that I googled and came up with, hit the forums and tried those things (resetting router, deleting cache, deleting reserve space, etc.). Eventually I just uninstalled and reinstalled and it fixed the issue. It worked for less than a week. I tried everything again - because uninstalling & reinstalling is tedious and dumb. Nothing worked until I uninstalled and reinstalled ... again. It worked for less than a day. Now I'm getting the same error AGAIN. My DL speed is 29.86, UL speed is 5.97, no packet loss, Open NAT. I can use every other game/app on my xbox without issue.

I contacted PWI support (ha, that's funny) and they told me to contact Xbox. I contacted Xbox and they walked me through the same steps, to no avail. Eventually they told me it was a PWI issue (if I can access EVERYTHING except Neverwinter, I was fairly certain of that). So, here I am. I can't get on my game to pray, earn my cult secrets/coins, run my dailies, etc. It's costing me ADs and Tyranny currency. PWI is no help whatsoever. Can anyone help me understand what's happening, how to fix it, and how to prevent it?

An intermitent connection issue can be a very tricky condition to resolve so I'm not too surprised that you're getiing finger pointing and some run around from the support people.

Since you mentioned resetting the router as one of your steps to resolve the issue I am proceeding with the assumption that you are using a wireless connection between your Xbox and your network. Due to the fact that a wireless connection can be affected by environmental conditions, I would suggest you try and eleminate any issues that the wireless connection could be causing by connecting your Xbox to your network with an ethernet cable and see if the problem still occours.

If this eleminates the problem you're having then it indicates something environmental may be causing an interference with your connection which might be resolved by decreasing the distance between your Xbox and your router.

If your problem persists, then your wireless connection can be eleminated from the list of potential causes of the problem and you can tell the support people that the problem you have occours with both a wireless and wired connection. I would also recommend that your next support contact, if necessary, would be to the Perfect World support staff and tell them that the Microsoft staff does not see any problem on their end and include the results of your test with the wired connection.

I wish you good luck getting this issue resolved.
  • I'm not using a wireless connection. I'm hard wired. I only reset the router as part of the "OMG what can possibly fix this" process. I've tried resetting the Xbox as mentioned by john6522 as well. If it's on the internet, I've tried it. I don't think it's an intermittent connectivity issue since I don't have issues with any other games (including games that require a constant connection like Destiny).

Today, I officially gave up. I was told by PWE that they cannot assist with server issues. XB1 customer support was actually super helpful (which is a major improvement over the last experience I had with them), but in the end stated that since PWE has their own servers, there isn't much they can do to help. PWE can't help, XB1 can't help... so I'm not wasting any more time on it. I'm not going to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the game (which is the only way I've found that fixes the issue every time... all other methods don't seem to work) just so I can get in a couple of hours of game time at night.

I'm sure I'll find something just as entertaining on the horizon. Good luck everyone...and I hope this issue doesn't become widespread. I appreciate the responses and the assistance.
