Heroic Campers Need to Go

Since we are now tying the ability to get artifact weapons directly to completion of heroic encounters... Perhaps it is time for someone to fix the ability for a camper to sit inside the HE zone, and get the award for completion (including the mote) for standing in the corner doing nothing? Hmmm? Think its time to fix that little flaw?

    In the case of crabs, I think you have to hit the pinata at least once....

    Hit something or get hit. There are a couple guys just standing near one of the lesser crab spawn points for phase 1. I assume they are getting motes by just getting hit, as they dont attack.

    Getting an artifact should be an epic questline, with twists and turns, epic battles with key characters....yes, maybe a little bit of farming involved (it is a game afterall, I can accept that)...making you feel like you have accomplished something.

    They best they came up with was "Farm this HE 100 times"...... :/

    I dont know... I see people standing in the corner of the fire HE and never hit or get hit... once its over, they move to another instance and repeat it. I dont get it... you have to be there for the whole time anyway... why not fight?

    yeah there are even some ppl bragging how they farm crab by watching something on pc or tv D

    I dont agree, but totally understand where they are coming from, super boring terrible grind, is super boring terrible grind. Tiamat is a totally different issue honestly. the issue there is they dont gate enough activity (remove points for dying) and make it that you have to score at least 30k points in every instance phase) viola.. no more campers.

    When they wake up and make gear gated through actual REAL group content via dungeons, is the only way to stop this stupid mess.. Dungeons solves so much in this game and they are SO stubborn to release ACTUAL new dungeons and gate stuff behind ... DUNGEONS. no more hes please..

    I dont know if I have it in me to literally sit around looking for active instances (mine would be fire for ap gain weapon for my dc)

    It seems like a massive waste of time, probably will just keep on farming t1s for this entire mod instead. Wait for the next stupid weapon batch they offer in three months time.

    every one of those i see doing that is a tr running the ae blades power. counts as hitting something. i tried making a mini game out of it by getting nearby mobs to ae them to death.

    its one thing to watch netflix between spawns and another to just sit in the corner and spam 1 ae every few seconds to get counted as participating and defeat the afk timer.

    i watched firefly (again) while farming water. i still managed to participate every time the crab spawned. these people are not doing that. they've got a macro set to hit a key every few seconds and just sit there afk and come back the next day to 100 motes.

    If they are not sitting in front of their PC they are not playing the game and shouldn't get the rewards of playing the game. Every one of these people takes a spot in the instance someone who actually wants to play the game could be using. It's tough at fire to get into the instances. For every HE that comes up there are 150 or so people trying to get into an instance that maxes at 30. Every camper AFK in the HE denies one active player the chance to do that HE.

    This is probably something they'll say makes the game more solo friendly.

    Try getting earth motes. Slaadi invasion is so buggy even people working their asses off to help don't get motes sometimes.

    I'd like to know why the water HE for motes spawns every 10 minutes (after the HE ends) and apparently the fire one spawns 25 min after the HE ends. The water one (I did it with two toons) is very organized and they report death times so you can add 10 minutes and know what's up next. The fire one (which I now have to do with one of my toons because I accidentally donated my new weapons to the mimic and can't get the water quest again) is really chaotic, with invite spams all over instead of any organized reporting. Not looking forward to this second grind but it's my fault for being too tired. My point is, why the difference in spawn times between the two??

    Spawn times were set long before they did something that made them relevant, and they probably hadn't thought about them since. I think the devs have said they didn't actually expect people to just run 100 crab encounters to get the weapon (yet within hours of release it was accepted by the players as the only sane and plausible way to do it). The HEs were very rarely, if ever, done before these artifact quests, because it's far too much trouble for far too little reward. Same as most HEs.

    And if you want a more organized fire mote experience, you could always try doing so yourself. Water mote collection was pretty hectic initially, and then a few people took on the task of keeping track of a dozen instances worth of respawn times and announcing them for hours on end and it ran really smoothly.

    Fix it in Tiamat first at least. It is a 25 man event not 3 guys + 22 afkers the game. And even worse when the afkers start chatting about how stupid the others trying are.. (At least demogorgon doesn't have stupid afkers, yet)

    The issues here -- it rewards people who afk when it fails, this is really stupid. Only people who put in a lot of effort from start to end should get any rewards on failure. And there are no limits or penalties, so people can go in each hour and afk unless it looks like an easy win, and be rewarded for it.
