Underdark/Dusk Set. Worth getting?

So I came back to NW recently and I can't seem to find any good advise or help here much about my class. I want to know what sort of build/gear should I go for to be able to be perfect support in Epic Dungeons and in PvP. Like what Gear should I get, I already unfortunately got mislead and bout the Underdark Arm/Boot piece from Cash Shop, but is it worth getting the set? if so then should I get the Defensive one or the Attack one? if there's another set I should be getting for End game, should I use this for the time being and get that set by working for it little by little? What about enchantments?

I was using this guide :http://laggygamerz.com/forum/index.php?/topic/17-kaelac’s-guide-to-devoted-clerics-in-neverwinter/ before the mod change a year back, but now it doesn't apply and even the gear there is completely outdated. Now I don't know what part I should follow and what I should not. No idea what to do and I already lost a lot of cash on stupid items I found out I don't really need... Can someone please help >.< I'll really appreciate it.

My main DCs using High prophet in righteous debuff/dps build and pvp set in faithful. Ignore the new drow/dusk gear, it is useless.

Kaelic left pre-mod 6. So while the guide is good for principals it doesn't cover post mod 5 gear or the new stat stacking logic. BTW that was the pre-mod 5 kaelic guide, for research I would at least use the module 5 guide: http://laggygamerz.com/forum/index.php?/topic/752-kaelacs-module-5-devoted-cleric-guide/

Like jassfong I'm a righteous build and see no reason to acquire the drow/dusk gear. The new gear seems to put more emphasis on recovery. Stacking recovery doesn't have near the value it did before the divinity logic was reworked in module 5.

    I carry 3 sets:
    High Prophet for PVE
    Lionsmane for PVP
Dragonflight for PVE (solo play or when running without a good tank to hold agro)

The set bonus on the new pants/shirts also seems useless, 1000 HP every 3 seconds? If you have a healer in party its contribution is minimal and if you don't have a healer in your party your party stats are typically going to be so high that your team can run on lifesteal anyhow.

I am not seeing a need for the new gear from Underdark. I have Dragon-flight and Protector-Seal gear. I did those new skirmishes and Demo once and that was enough for me. Hate them!

I was wondering the same thing, I hit 70 a while back and I'm trying to run heroics comfortably. I wasn't sure if HP was still viable... Is the underdark gear a good stepping stone until I get gear from seals? What sort of stats should I be running? Kelac's stat suggestions still good?

Currently there are no better set than high prophet in terms of debuff. As long as you build enough HP for survival, feel free to use that set until better set is out.

Thanks jazz, I just have to find out now how much hp/defense to build. What's your hp/defense like?

Yeah its pretty sweet, my dc is visible on there if you look at my profile. Incase it helps, but I only have the solo gear so far, I need to create one for pvp and party also

I've a recovery based build. Currently the best recovery is provided by the Elemental Elven Restoration Armor. Both drow/dusk gears will decrease my recovery.

For high IL DCs and if you're interested in recovery, the workaround is:
    - to refine the new artifact weapon set (air, fire, water, earth) to legendary and put a silver ench in the slot attack (rk 10 at least). This set has a high recovery which partially compensate the loss coming from the dusk set.
    - bring the dusk gear to elemental.

As an overall effect, I will preserve the same amount of recovery (more or less), but I will increase power (by 1,3K) and crit....and more power is always welcome for a cleric.
The hp gain is not so relevant (+3K) for PvE imo.

You'll get more recovery from the elemental dragonflight set, restoration for head, chest, and feet, use raid for bracers. 4112 recovery from the armor alone (2855 for elemental elven) :-)

Well, I bought two Dusk pieces that are available in the Tramalane Bar store. I love them. My recovery is now 8400. Im an AP DC btw.

The two-set bonus of 5k HP + 1k Power + 1k Defense when in party is awesome, but it has a bug right now. As soon as you get into the instance with your party, take one piece of the Dusk set and put it into your inventory, then re-slot it back to your char. You will then get the set bonus.

The devs are aware of the problem.

I'm fully aware of it, but I'm a small guild and we're miles away from having the market at rank 4. Many players in my guild have limited time and/or resources and currently we're spending our limited time progressing the new campain.

Sorry to hear that, I'm assuming that cryptic will loosen the purse strings on the stronghold currency requirements as soon as the whales get done investing significantly into stronghold progression. I personally had to consolidate my guild into another bigger guild because I knew we were not going to be able to progress fast enough on our own. I interviewed several guilds, spent some time in a few and was able to find a good fit for my band of misfits :-)

Is it better to build up charisma or constitution? Is it harder to get recovery or survivability?
  • putzboy78putzboy78 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 1,950 Arc User
depends on what your goal is, but most all dcs either stack strength/wisdom, or strength/constitution. I can't recall any end game builds that focused on charisma for dc
