Blacksmith for melee

I was looking through all the companion active bonuses and was wondering about the reflect damage on the Blacksmith. I was looking at alternatives for my Combat HR as the other companions I'm considering are too pricey or difficult to obtain. Anyone done any serious testing with the Blacksmith to see if the active bonus is any good as a source of damage?

    For solo or dungeons?

    Never tested, but you're probably better off with straight damage boost companions: Blink Dog, Archons...etc.
