Can Paladins use a sword, or is mace the only option?

    There's a few swords that are useable by pallies. See this thread for some visuals:

    You can also transmute any mace into a sword by using a usable sword and transmuting it. It stull does blunt damage, but has a sword appearance. Unfortunately this tends to get expensive over time.

    most of the free transmute swords are pretty hideous. the fey sword is nice however.

    That is a thought. Find a transmute sword you like, and when you need to upgrade your weapon (most likely to a mace), you can use the transmute to change it to a sword for no transmute cost. The trick would be being able to find multiple transmutes and have them ready each time you upgrade. If you have to purchase on the AH each time it could cost you as much as simply using your old weapon to transmute.

    Don't worry about trying to make it a sword unless you are going to be using it at level 70.

    Also, it and the shield are exceedingly ugly.
