The issue is not some much about small size, it's about being casual. The structure costs and the level of coordination required for Dragonfights are such that only guilds with high number of hardcore end gamers are about to succeed. E.g. the guild I've started a week ago (Casual Gamers) - by casual players for casual players - cannot meaningfully participate in Strongholds - not until most of our members are endgamers.
No level of merging would help us to get better at Stronghold, we just about to be forced to increase our minimum level and contribution requirements. Successful guilds nowadays could only afford a small subset of players to be beginners/casuals. I'm sure our guild will adapt to that, it's just the experience of new players in this game overall is going to suffer.
The whole idea of many-month contribution from hundreds of players (worth $10,000+ in RL money) by a single person of a guild lead seems to be very disturbing. This new game mechanics has to be seriously revisited. Sure the best case scenario works just fine but there are so many corner cases which are new and have never been tested.
Make the contribution follow the player. Determine a fair way of resolving guild ownership conflicts (e.g. through succession or voting mechanics). Or make guilds smaller and let them combine into nations.
Either way the Pandora box was open (ta-da!), and the sooner it's closed the less impact it would make.
I absolutely agree with everything you said. It still remains that nothing will change though. Mod 8 is already in works for us. They would be fools to allocate any time, money, assets, man hours into completely revamping content they just released while the next batch is already in the oven.
The glorious day will never come for you my friend. You will not log onto the forums one day and see patch notes that contain the changes required to make small or even media size guilds a viable option (if you plan to progress

It's a glitch with the event display. The default state when just the 2x glory event is displayed is "unpaused" so every 5 seconds it tries to move to the next event (even though there isn't one) and makes that click sound.
Highlight the 2x glory event and press X and you should see the blue orb above it change from blue to yellow and then the noise will stop. Unfortunately, it seems to get reset everytime you go into a menu, so you'll have to keep doing it.

I was going to mention this until I read your comment, it is annoying indeed. -__-

I noticed that when you are doing quests for stronghold in different areas eg dread ring, you need to complete three tasks, when you just do one, turn it in and press b instead of a to claim your reward it still counts, so you can do 3 for 1 just turn it in, b, b, a done.

On the topic of guild being sold: The same day that Strongholds was being dropped, there was a person/guildleader posting in Trade in PE, about wanting to sell a guild with 150 active members, for the (low) amount of 2000k AD, I hope the other guildmembers knew about that.
I was half tempted to buy it, and (temporarily)kick all members just to prove the point of how much of a disaster this can turn out to be unless you're careful....
I noticed that when you are doing quests for stronghold in different areas eg dread ring, you need to complete three tasks...
Hm, didn't repro for me... Well, completing tasks is good anyway as it earns campaign currencies which are going to be very valuable for Stronghold progression.
Anytime you are in the Stronghold; and you log out and back in, or join a PvE or PvP que, it always logs you back into the last previous are you was before going to the Stronghold instead of logging you back into the Stronghold area like it should.
Randomly trapped in IWD (Caer-Konig). Cannot leave zone, annot interact with boat or gate at the north^south end of the map. Cannot interact with sign post, playwrs or a friends. Enclave teleport scroll does not work. Can que for dungeon/skirmish, but you cannot physically join. Cannot change instance.
Hard reset if console does nothing. Logging out and then back in does nothing. Changing characters does nothing.
The only resolve is to log out and wait a few hours then try again.
Not sure what triggers this but I recommend staying out of IWD until patched.
I visit IWD several times a day (for guild recruiting) and it never happened to me, so while it may sometimes be happening it's probably not so common. One more idea - try talking to NPCs which enlist you into fractions.
I did talk to all npc or should I say, tried too. There is no A icon above their heads. No icons above anything. I literally cannot access anything. And no its not "common", but it sure in the HAMSTER is a problem.
I was able to get back out of iwd after this happened. After hard reseting my console ump teen times. I went back in later and I was able to do everything again. I mopped up my quests and left. Came back in to iwd today and same thing happened. I have now tried over an hour to fix this issue and still stuck. I gave up. This bug has costed me dailies, ad, etc. One thing I've noticed, when I have been bugged, it's when I traveled to iwd via sign post. When I was able to interact after being stuck I traveled via the gates. Just an assumption.
In Grey Wolf Den I glitched out of the map today by accident and before the new Mod it has never happened.
The room right after the room with a bunch of lightning werewolves I used Crescendo on one of the archers and teleported above the roof out of the map. I had to use the "defeat me" option to "fix" it.

I have had the same issue repeatedly I find that joining a 5 man dungeon/skirmish, logging out, then logging back on and returning to instance works, is weird.
I hope they fix this, I was trapped for like 2 days.

I've had this same issue for the past couple days, and when it happens you cannot press A on anything, travel doors OR people.
I think that might be caused by lag or connectivity issues with the server, not sure why is it happening of IWD only, maybe because it has only a couple of instances running and the servers got overloaded... Connecting/disconnecting might help (as you might get into a different instance), trying at different time could help as well, also try waiting a bit longer near NPC - up to a minute - to see if the server eventually responds with the list of available actions.

Yeah I get what your saying but the first time I was in there for 24 hours I tried everything. Change instance got me "Map transfer failed' and loading dungeon instances got me 'Cannot transfer character to container'.
Still Hearing a ticking sound in game pretty much anywhere I travel OFF and ON.
When setting up professions I noticed a new problem. When doing a repeat task lets say your doing it 8 times. After quickly selecting first task then on to the next task the image bar for the task is off screen but it is still selected just cannot see it. After doing 5 repeats of the same task the 6th one with shift down to the task below the one that should already be selected. Just an annoying little hiccup.
Also,
When leaving the end of a dungeon or PvP arena when exiting it split the group (if in one) and sends each player that was in the guild stronghold to the previous area they were in before entering stronghold. Example; 1). I was in the Dread Ring. 2). I traveled to our SH. 3). I then accepted a PvP domination Q. 4). The match ends. 5). I was sent back to the Dread Ring.
Weird and annoying wasting our time with extra travel loads.
Anyone else notice these or try them out yourselves to back me up here?

I have noticed this behavior as well and it is a bit of an annoyance.
I just tried to use the Change Officer Comment on a few of the characters in my guild and the comments do not appear to be getting saved. They do not get displayed in the Officer Comments field and the tooltip for this field displays No Officer Comment.

I knew it all the time! We are in the Matrix. Strongholds are imaginary constructs in our heads. Now I should start practicing imaging a fully upgraded one. Or at least the one where upgrades costs 10 times less.
If you log out of game while in stronghold on character select screen it says that your character is in the stronghold. When you log back in though it takes you to area you were previously before entering stronghold.

I got the impression the stronghold maps are being treated like a solo quest map (i.e.Tower of Celadine or Biggrins Tomb) where leaving the map sets your character's spawn point at the maps exit point.

When there is nobody present on any given instance of a map, the instance closes. This is true of every map in the game. However with Strongholds, your guild has it's own instance and you will never be on a different instance of the Strongholds map, so instead of putting you on a different instance of the same map, it moves you to the last open map that you were on. Does this make sense?
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official. So the goal was to save the server resources (by reducing the instance count)? Cause it feels inconvenient. At least move me (and everyone in the party) to PE for consistency.
I have run stronghold six times now and my rewards box has been empty in all but 1 run. What is the use of having 20 keys if it gliches and I get nothing so cant use them. I also have at least 2 victories which showed blank as well.
all being said- I think the StrongHolds has redeemed the gameplay some- and added excitement too!! -the problem is that there is no way of getting your stronhold open to the expected levels unless you have 20+ players that have deep pockets, or are thru with thier boons ect. to contribute zone currencies... they should have a scale for how many players are active or something- I guess they "may" have looked at that- and someone can "exploit" that by leaving the guild- until opened- then return and add players back- so it may not be an easy fix, but something should be done to make it "possible" for smaller guilds to achieve the same stronghold that the huge guilds can get... example: our guild cannot even begin to take down the 4 dragons in the event at strongholds with our current player base, and calculated at our curreent rate it will be 3 more weeks plus to get to level 2, one of my players is in another (big) guild: and it has level 4 open, and is opening 5 tomorrow or shortly after -so the "haves" are having it- and the have-nots....wont ever -and Im sure thats Not the goal of StrongHolds- we are supposed to get our guild stronghold built albieit maybe a "little" slower- but stagnancy wasnt supposed to be the norm here- right...??
