(Open PvP) - Why do people sign out when they're losing?

Seriously. I have no interest in PvP at all, but I have a large interest in mining Black Ice. The best place to do so is obviously the Open PvP areas - which obviously opens you up to attack from the other faction.

Now, I will never initiate combat, but if you're going to attack me one-on-one, I'm (very likely) going to beat you. I can take hits from broken ECC mobs - your hits are like puppies licking me. All I want to do is mine black ice. If you insist on attacking me, at least follow it through and take the death that's coming to you. Don't sign out when you're on half health like a pansy, just because my health is still basically full.

But why do it at all? Does open PvP have any impact on stats or something? Does looking at a positive KD number really feel good when you have to regularly sign out to maintain it?

If you're in a PVP area, I would imagine the assumption is that you're there to play, not just mine black ice or that you've stepped into a zone of play. I don't PVP, but I realize that this is a risk if I mine in that area. I guess I am not sure what the big deal is, if I get attacked or even die in there mining, I expect it's possible.

Exactly. If I get attacked by a bunch of people, I let them kill me. I won't sign out.

Simple fix - Devs should adjust so if a player disconnects during a fight it counts as an automatic loss for them and a win for the attacker.

Okay, but is there a record of kills/deaths within IWD when you just kill random people? I have never seen such a record, and I have killed my fair share of people within the area.

Tbh I haven't seen one either lol - does make disconnecting kinda pointless if there isn't xD

maybe they just accepted a pvp Q... Seems like an obvious reason someone in a pvp area may suddenly disappear.

Just seems to take away from IWD PvP campaign stats. I love cowards

Can't que in a pvp zone especially if ur flagged... I've tried plenty times, they ain't quing for anything they're DCing.

^ Everything about that is wrong. For one, you most certainly can que for Domination anywhere in Icewind Pass. You cannot change instance in Icewind pass because you're in a combat zone. You can also start a new que while flagged within the PVP arena boundaries. I can make a video of it and post it here if you like. I have personally been in a 1V1 and was pulled from the match starting. So not all are from DCing.
